I was speaking in general that pensions are a better option than the 401K in most cases.

Common mindset of the "average American Union worker": I can screw up, & keep my job! I can practice my drug/alcohol, life style, get caught, & the Union, will "save me"! The Union, will take my dues, & "protect me"......."v**e for me"........Union, will "take care of me", from cradle to grave! I don't have to be "outstanding", or do a better job than the next guy.......I have Union protection!

The Union's "did" provide some protective benefits in the beginning......But, as time went by, the "workers".....looked the other way, as corruption, replaced the benefits.....{ala Jimmy Hoffa, Walter P. Reuther, the "Mob", & many more "problems".....that the common 'workers" ignored at the Union's became murderous beasts, & corrupt entities!}...........

Typical of Liberalism......eh? Nothing has changed these days, except the faces, & so many now "not" enamored by the Union rhetoric any longer!......................

Thank God, there are those,......."ie" Scott Walker, & others, that want to replace Unionism, with fair play, & integrity!......{ there must always be "oversight".....{{trust but verify}}!

Yes.......There "used to be", benefits in Unionism........not so much anymore, because of basic human greed, & intentional corruption of man, & his "inherent" weaknesses!.....................

ABSOLUTELY!!!
And slickered Roy doesn't get the point that WE the People pay for all the screwups+offs everyday; while the Dem politicos offer more to get+keep office[of OUR money], crooked union bosses laugh while rolling in ill gotten money as power brokers and workers are directed down a dead end road of NO return with both- as businesses that want to survive and make a profit will use the global market place to move on to.
"Whoops guess we ran our nation over the cliff " after it's to late says the honest assessors of what they did(Dems, union 'officials'+the workers).
"The times they are a changing" = NO dummies they have already changed- waky waky children, it's not a game anymore as we ALL as a nation will lose!

Well why wait for the coming crash of the greedy fools; let's put moral and Patriotic adults in the drivers seat to do what should be done while it's still possible ~?

Pensions---I was reading Yahoo yesterday about SS running out of money in 33. SS has a balance of a couple tril now, but there are 3 workers paying into SS to support one retiree.

The preceding paragraph is a limited view of entitlements. those same 3 workers are supporting 145 million on welfare. How can this be? Taxes would be so high on workers that they all would be sucked dry of income. It happens because all welfare is borrowed. If you don't believe me, Look up the total # of people on welfare and the # of workers in the USA, look up the cost of Welfare, 20% of workers are unemployed (Researched). It appears to me judging by the comments posted by OPP Socialist members, that they are completely ignorant of the financial mess the USA is in but if they see it they don't see a problem. Their toes must be sore kicking the can down the road.

"Well" being that we've been owned since 1913 by the IMF/WB via their branch office the Fed+IRS catch dogs, they'll just electronically cause money to appear creating even further inflation on hardworking American families waiting for real leadership ~!

Absolutely. The making money out of 0 devalues the dollars held by the middle class. The poor has no money so they are not effected by inflation. the rich aren't affected as much because they can borrow and pay back with inflated dollars. Fiat money benefits only debtor nations. The US is the largest debtor nation in the world. The beginning of the Fed was the beginning of the death of the middle class.

That gets into the realm of investments, stock market, etc.........

I don't pretend to understand the ramifications, of high finance/investments, etc.........I leave that to my friend: Bernie Madoff.......& the rest of the Liberal financial scourges in the world!

Historically.......The Pension money, usually "isn't there", {in case of everyone wanting to retire at the same time}, as the "money" has been pilfered by Union leaders!

So you were one of the reasons for the GM bailout. Thanks for sponging off society. Your pension bailout was no different than government welfare. 41 years and you are on welfare. And proud of it?
