Deuteronomy 33:27

The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.
He will drive out your enemies before you, saying, ‘Destroy them!’

We all have certain 'enemies' within us, and it is up to you to 'destroy them.' Words spoken over a child carries on throughout their life. Those words often leave a feeling of inferiority, a feeling that you are helpless and alone. At some point you have to step beyond the hurt, step out in faith. Turn your eyes to God, keep moving forward, rise above reason, just believe and trust. You may end up surprised how many others care about you, and will come to give you aid and comfort. You are not alone, there are others who understand and care.

The pilgrims learned early on that when they stuck together, their group survived, where others failed for lack of community unity. It's like the root system of the giant Red Woods of California. "The Red Wood's roots intertwine so as to support one and other. High winds, bad storms come through, but the trees continue to stand because of their supportive root system." That 'root system' is like the 'arms of God,' He is always ready to assist you. We, as a human race, could learn much from those trees, never be slow to offer a hand to a loved one, a neighbor, or an acquaintance. When you have God in your heart, He will move you to help others, and when the need comes home to you, they will come to offer care and support to you.
