Christian adoption agencies will be required to allow same sex couples to adopt children, among other anti-Christian rules in force. Apparently the only place Christians can act on their religious beliefs is if they are hiding in the Catacombs.

First of all, there is no mention of this in the article and second of all:

http://www.eurekaspringsindependent.com/single_story.asp?StoryID=9089

The battle over Eureka Springs’ non-discrimination ordinance up for vote May 12 has taken on two new twists just as the issue is attracting national attention from The New York Times and the Washington Post both of which sent reporters to town in the past several days.
For one, a man who appears in a recent video advocating repeal of 2223, Acra Lee Turner, 60, the new pastor at Penn Memorial Baptist, [/b]is a convicted serial rapist jailed after confessing to three rapes at the age of 22, according to The New Civil Rights Movement website, [/b]The Lawton [OK] Constitution and the Arkansas Times.

I'm sure glad I know where all the rapists are: church. I wonder if Trump would give him some crap for getting caught.

Stories with twists and turns like this are not surprising, the depth of human depravity on all sides is horrendous. While I would not believe much from a LGBTQ activist site the other references have much more validity. the anitbullying law that apparently says you can't harass anyone in school for anything is meant to keep children who perceive themselves as homosexual bisexual or transgender from kidding from anyone, could be interpreted in ways that would make any comments at all grounds for punishment. wonder how many kids who appear slightly different will be totally ignored rather than saying anything to them that might be interpreted as harassment. for instance if one kid had one blue eye and one brown eye he might be kidded and he could sue, so maybe it is better if he is just ignored. Or maybe a girl is 5'10" at 12 years of age and would be harassed by being called
"spider" or slinky as my wife was at that age, or a child who had a deformity might be called "gimp" as I was, now those kids might just be ignored totally. I can picture that happening as an unintended side effect of such laws, rather than children learning to cope and parents teaching their children not to be hateful. Pathetic world we live in. By the way, I still refer to myself as a "gimp", and I didn't die of it. the rest of the hatred in our family was enough that gimp was a compliment, made me realize someone had actually noticed I existed...

For one who is constantly calling Christians hypocrites, maybe first you should "get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye."

As for the pastor, you’re judging him on something that happened in his youth thirty-eight years ago? It appears that the pastor my be a changed man. Maybe a little more bible “learnin’” is in order…

Romans 12:2
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

2 Corinthians 5:17
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

I call anyone a hypocrite that it is a hypocrite, Christian or not. I have only referred to about 4 people on this site as hypocrites...wanna be number 5?
Yea, go ahead forgive him, he still is a rapist and most psychologists say that rapists, child molesters are psychopaths. They are into control and manipulation. Seems like the perfect role for a minister.
Funny how you can think that someone is changed, only God knows there heart, I know you certainly don't know. He's a psychopath and he knows exactly how to manipulate people...even you!

I must have struck a nerve if you're replying in red. Why didn't you leave the bible verses in your reply that illustrate that as long as the pastor has asked for forgiveness, repented, and turned his life over to Jesus, he's a new man and the old one has died...contrary to to what you may or may not believe?

Nope: you didn't strike a nerve-I have been finding that when I reply to some posts that the person I'm replying to my reply isn't clear, so I'm just making it clear.

What would it mean to keep the bible verses available to read, I have nothing to say. Do you want me to argue with you about God's word....interpret it? Let God do what God does, what I do and think is what I am answering to...I'm not answering to God on this subject...I'm answering you. We live in a temporal plane with rules of conduct. We don't kill people, rape them or steal their stuff.

I read a book by a woman who confessed and wrote about her religious upbringing and psychologically many years later she was diagnosed as a psychopath. She wasn't a minister, but as she explained there are a lot of people in churches who are psychopaths. I don't need my children exposed to that kind "jackassery" and I certainly don't need to be part of an organization that embraces crazy people, especially psychopaths.

I had a boss who was a psychopath and I called him out on it.
It got me out of the Navy a year earlier, his behavior finally caught up with him...he was hypocrite too.

It is fine that God forgives the minister, but it doesn't change the fact that he raped someone. He is a turd and I don't have to tolerate being around someone like that.
Hiding behind the bible doesn't change the fact that you're an asshole and should be locked up for the rest of your life.

In spite of what you think about how I respond to NPP, I like the guy. He just has a one track mind, did you read the article. There wasn't any discussion from the article about gay's adopting children....the article literally had nothing to do with that or the ordinance.

I've got a news flash for you. From God's perspective, without the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ, we're ALL assholes that deserve to be locked up for the rest of our lives if you catch my drift.
