America was rocked by the k*****g of four U.S. Marines by an Islamic terrorist last week in Chattanooga, Tenn. However, some of us took the event more seriously than others.
Among the less serious contingent was our president. According to the mother of one of the slain Marines, Barack Obama has not even contacted her to express condolences over the tragic attack.
Cathy Wells, mother of Chattanooga victim Lance Cpl. Chip Wells, talked about the presidents appalling lack of attention to the terrorist shooting on Fox News this week.
When asked whether shed heard from the president, a visibly pained Wells closed her eyes and answered, No.
When asked a follow-up question as to whether that surprised her, Wells again curtly answered, No.
Host Sean Hannity then brought up the fact that he didnt believe White House f**gs were not at half-staff, Wells said I know that some states are doing it, but no.
Hannity mentioned that this was the same White House that celebrated the Supreme Court decision on gay marriage by lighting 1600 Pennsylvania in rainbow colors. Wells, holding back tears, said, You already know the answer to that one.
Wells also lamented the fact that the Marine wasnt able to carry a firearm while on duty because of military gun-free zones, in spite of the fact that he was specifically trained in firearms.
Im going to do what my son wanted to do before this happened. He wanted a gun, Wells said, adding she was going to buy one in her sons memory.
As for how shes holding up, Wells said it was hard but that shes surviving.
Im doing the best that I can, Wells told Fox News. Im surrounded by family and friends, and Im doing the best that I can.
Lance Cpl. Wells and the other victims of last weeks attacks deserve better than what the Obama administration has given them. Its time for our president to step up and not only honor the victims of the Chattanooga shooting for their service, but eliminate gun-free zones on military installations to ensure that this never happens again.
