I have had it with political or any other kind of speech correctness. Our founding fathers deemed it necessary to provide free speech as one of the underpinnings for a new republic. When did we decide to "punish" those who engage in free speech? My mother taught me, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me." Only I, can choose to ignore words or decide I have been offended. Deciding I am offended offers a path that requires serious effort. I am lazy. It is often far better to just consider the source and let hurtful words dissipate into the ether.

If a movie or TV program is going to upset me, I can choose not to watch it. I choose which books or news articles I wish to read. I try to read a broad array of news sources in order to sift facts from propaganda. I believe what I chose to call t***h, while accepting that others have an equal right. I may offer facts to support my position. Others may choose to accept or disprove my facts. I allow them that right. I will listen to counter facts and weigh their viability. Just don't waste my time with profanity, name calling or complete distortion of facts.

I have had it with name calling instead of countering with facts. I have had it with taking words out of context to vanquish a presumed foe. I have had it with choosing to persecute those with religious convictions or a different position regarding marriage. Live and let live unless the other steals your money or breaks your bones.

Stop making big issues out of nothing and attempt to solve very real and serious problems.

Speak the t***h as you see it and let everyone else do the same.

If you were honest you would admit that many liberals are for free speech only if you agree with them. Case in point. One of the Democrats running for president tried to say all l***s m****r. When he said black l***s m****r he got cheered when he tried to say red, yellow, white, all l***s m****r he got booed.

What you I***ts don't realize is that your freedom of speech protects you from retaliation from the government, not from the reaction of society in general. No one is being arrested by the Feds for using r****t slurs, flying n**i or klan f**gs or spouting white suprimisist propaganda. However your employer may choose to fire you, your church excommunicate you and you may become ostracized from polite society. You can legaly say and publish what you want no matter how ignorant or h**eful, doing so however has never been without a cost.

The speakers freedom of speach was not challenged at all in this instance, freedom of speach protects you from government persecution, not hecklers. If people don't like what you say they have the freedom to Boo if they care to. Our constitution doesn't guarantee couth or good manners, nor does it protect us from h**eful ideas, lies or ignorance. This is where polite society plays a role.

Tough crowd, I'll say that.
Not sure that it was a free speech issue. More of a 'some liberal activists can be quite rude' matter. I don't think it helps that he saw fit to apologize.

Puts to question the idea that liberals or Democrats march in lockstep.

While I might wish the demonstrators weren't so rude (because I don't think it helps their cause), I don't see it as a free speech issue. More like this is part of the 'if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen' trial by fire for running for the office.

What's your take? Isn't this a case of liberals disagreeing with each other?

If you think it's a break down in civility when discussing d******e issues, then I agree with you.

Tell that to someone that is as stupid as you. The first amendment has been steam rolled by Obama. You are selective like a good little N**i Muslim Trooper to run flake for your Kenyan King Obama. Try telling your garbage to Bob Woodward whom has had the White House threaten him more than once so he would not run true storied about Obama.

That is merely one of millions of things Obama has done to destroy the first amendment. There are many sites on the internet that are GONE due to the White House, and most had no relationship at all with Politics. One website had information about the History of the Hawaiian Islands that spoke of a fire, the fire was the building that burnt to the ground during the mid 1960's....the building housed all the hard copy and micro film files of birth records and most special about it was if a person was born in the region and hospital where Barry Boy claims he was born, that building would have had the ONLY original of his Birth Certificate.

No loss of free speech do you say? BS we all say back to you! In SPADES!
