First question: Who are the entitled, and who are the disadvantaged? These sound like talking points, and trigger words to me.

Second: History can be cherry picked to make it fit any narrative you want. If you use your talking points, and trigger words in just the right way, it works!!. For the narrow minded!!

Question: How do you apply 'white privelege to a guy who started throwing papers at 11, waking up at 4 am, and going to school at the same time? Maybe then that kid figured out that he could have an afternoon paper route, AND go work at a nearby restraunt at nite?

How do you explain how an urchin like that managed to own his own home, raise, and take care of the kids that HE sired, and still works his ass off 40 years later, has 'white privelege?

I have worked even harder, even in the cotton fields, Went in the military two months after my 17 th birthday. Got my SS card at 13, for my first taxable job. So I worked 57 years, before retiring. I put up with a lot of people like you, who think they never had an advantage. I had to be twice as good at what I did to keep a job. In the military the white boys screwed up but still got promoted first. As a cop, I went to every class available, and made sure that I was the best. It did not matter. My last job was metrology. I made sure that I knew every discipline so that I was the one person who could handle anything.

You will never convince me that me, my children, or grandchildren owe any man anything for something that we did not create.
You call it white privelege. I call it hard work, good parenting, sacrifice, good work ethic, and an eye on what I would be responsible for turning loose on society.

You benefitted from privilege without realizing it. That does not mean that you did not work hard, it just means that you had an advantage in life at birth. My grandparents, parents, myself, and now my children pay taxes to support that infrastructure.
I pay school taxes while having no kids in school.

I guess I have privilege because I have a job.

This has been a fascinating discussion between the two of you.

I have a new understanding of what "white privilege " means.
So thanks.

My idea on white privilege is that the reason white privilege even exist, (and it does exist ) is because white people are the overwhelming majority of humans on the planet. If the situation were different and say black people were the majority then its quite possible that this conversation could be flipped.
It doesn't make any sense to blame white people for being white. However it could benefit all people if white people recognized the simple fact that white privilege does exist, and more of an effort was made to eliminate it.
