My first impulse is to think... Of Course, that is his job.
But then I came across this picture and thought that gentleman really went above and beyond.

He could have ignored the man in distress, but his heart was bigger than that.
It is refreshing to see there are still some good people in this world. Yes, the gentleman could have let his own hatred rule and not assisted the man. He was just the bigger man in this situation. He lead with his heart. This man should get some recognition for his good deed from the city.
Who knows this act of kindness just may change the heart of the gentleman he helped.

The LEO may not have hatred, he may be of the same character as those wonderful people who were so willing to forgive. He may be the bigger man, period.

He is without a doubt the bigger man. I just don't understand why hate makes headlines and if it had not been posted here I would never have known of this man's kindness.
I didn't mean to imply the gentleman had hate. It is just when it comes to the KKK who could blame him if he did.

I hear you there. I might do my job, but, the KKK person would know how I felt. I only wish I could be that nice.

I am sure there were other officers there, mostly White, who followed their instructions. Don't engage, separate any volatile actors, maintain your line. He had to go beyond his job.
That brother is a really decent man....I wonder if that had been a white officer at a "Black Lives Matter" rally would he have been as obliging? That is not even a hate-based event either.....although many would consider it and any New Black Panthers meeting as such...sorry I took so long to get here...the degree of civility amongst us on the left is therapeutic in nature......

Yes, it is therapeutic which is why I called it a respite.
Some white officers would be good and others would not same as some black law enforcement is ugly regardless of what ethnic group they are dealing with.
And sometimes it just depends on the day.
LindaJ was fine for a couple of posts and I thought how nice, what a change. Then she was off and running.
Such is life, it must hurt.

I was curious about the reactions also, but I am not optimistic that anything changed.
