Interesting. Reminded me of the movie " Strategic Air Command " with Jimmy Stewart and June Allison which is a great movie. I will be studying for my private pilot's license soon. Something I have been wanting to do since I was about 13. Thanks, Elwood. One thing in the article surprised me. It mentioned that it would take 30 Cessna 172's to carry the payload of 70,000 lbs. which is 35 tons. I did not think a 172 could carry 1.16 tons. But it did say fully loaded. It is probably correct.

Good luck. I took ground school and when I started delving into all the rules and regulations involved with flying I decided to fore go the stress and stick with sailing. Much less pressure and safer. :-D

I understand. Sailing is great. My Dad loves sailing. Both are about freedom and mobility. Sailing undoubtedly is more freedom. I looked up the weight limits on the 172. It appears that is the plane, fuel and cargo combined. You haven't even mentioned this avatar photo of the two of us.

Hey Jake I was a little slow on the uptake. That picture was taken so long ago that I didn't recognize myself since I have slimmed down and greyed out. You need to update our photo bro.
