What the hell is wrong with our school system. You know its bad enough that we as parents have to worry about all the bad things that our children will encounter in there growing up years. Now we have to worry that our children will be molested and told, they don't have to tell there parents about having sex or aborting a life, because they,
the public schools, will help them lie to there parents.
Dam this modern school system all to hell.

The destruction of our schools is a classic reason to keep government out of ALL areas not allowed by our Constitution. EVERYTHING the government and politicians touch is destroyed. We set up trust funds to pay for infrastructure, social security, etc., etc. and what do the politicians do with the money -- they steal it for some other program that will get them v**es. I know I have gone around in circles a little with this but the point I make is that wh**ever the government touches is destroyed. Things are better left to individuals to accomplish because the outcome is usually positive.

I agree. Govt involvement in areas it does not belong makes things worse.
Wasn't "health/sex education" meant to inform students among other things about "safe" sex issues (apparently parents didn't want that job?) but then sexually t***smitted diseases and teen pregnancies began to rise ...
Wasn't the anti-drug program meant to inform kids about the dangers of doing drugs and alcohol but then more kids ended up doing drugs and drinking lots more ....
Apparently kids do not learn much in school anyway according to test scores even in basic courses, which tells me too many teachers are simply not qualified to actually teach anything if the results show a negative outcome in all areas they attempted to improve.
Big Govt creates problems it cannot solve. The more they want to fix - the more it all ends up broken. And this is where we are today. It all seems very broken, maybe beyond repair at this point.

What a load of crap, there was no great v**e f***d, it is a made up conspiracy by paranoid cranks who fail to accept that their washed up ideas are failed, unpopular and un American. And there will be no revolution brought on by the right wing nutters. None of them have the balls, numbers or organizational sk**ls to do anything but pen spiteful letters and run their mouths, letters by the way, that end up in the waste baskets of polititions and newspaper editors after they have a good laugh. The far right in this country is a statistically insignificant laughing stock who's time has long past. All of the bluster about them taking back the country is a joke, they never had the country, and more importantly they can't take a piss without getting their feet wet much less effect any regression in our great nation.

The states need to take over many things the gov has their hands in, especially education.

Yes, states' rights. Some states have their cake and want to eat it too. They have their hands out for federal dollars for their favored business' tax breaks and subsidiies, campaigns and construction projects, jails and churches, natural-disaster relief, then turn around and cry "keep the feds off our back"....sure, just give us the $$$ and go away. It's not like they're a part of a country or anything... And the schools? There's been more privately-owned and controlled charter schools popping up over the last decade than ever before, many of which also get the benefit of government-funding. But we know the problem with the schools is not money, it's access and top-down management. Oh, not to mention that it's just as much the parents' and students' responsibility as it is the teachers'. But anytime the government tries to run a public service like a for-profit private corporation, you're going to have major problems. That about sums up the crux of the issue for the last three-and-a-half decades.
