The Liberals on OPP has developed a new section called Leaning Left. It is a place where they discuss you and I, our opinions and a generalized cut down of everyone and everything that does not fit their world views.


If you are interested, go to the Home Page, you will see your list that you are currently subscribed. At the end of the list you will see a term, "All Sections" click on this, it will show you all sites on OPP. Now then, at this point you can subscribe to more than what you already see or you can reduce what you see when you log on.

Tes I have looked in there a couple of times I see nothing wrong with them having their own place to discuss what they want to. The right side has a room too. The only thing I noticed is most of the repubs don't talk in the left room, but many of the left talk in the repub room. I seen where jelun (cuz he started the room) monitors it as he sees fit and does not allow the repubs in ther bad mouthing.

Must be tough not being able to pin your screwed up ideology on the here and now or even events in your own life span. These nut jobs will travel back centuries, hell , probably back to the primordial soup fishing for justification. The further back the better. Dead men tell no tales so they can bend facts, rewrite history with their misconstrued views and argue without end. Of course they will collect into a group , circling the wagons. Water seeks it's own level. They all seem to have problems in connecting the dots. Maybe as a group they could make a stick figure. I wouldn't hold my breath however !!

Since reading your post, I have checked it out and here's what I found: generally the conversation is civil and polite. The quote you picked from fiatlux, while accurate, is actually the most strident piece of rhetoric in that section and is not typical.

There are no arguments in Hell ... or Heaven for that matter ... for the entities in both are like-minded. We must simply decide where we will align ourselves.

The left have a room of their own? I say, "Good!" Let them fill it from floor to ceiling with their own banal ramblings. Unfortunately, every so often (daily) one of them steps out for some fresh air and regurgitates that drivel onto the public forum. Then it's back to the room for the familiar and comforting stench of delusion & self-righteousness.

I see. How is that any different than how the righties comfort themselves in their own cocoon of agreement, delusion and self-righteousness? Very few of you are civil to those who disagree with you. Not intolerant - convicted. There's a difference. Were I intolerant, I would want to blow the room up with everyone in it. I do not. It takes many people, all with differing opinions, to make the world go round. And I for one support everyone's right to free speech, whether I agree with them or not.

But after years of hearing the same arguments - both for and against - and seeing the results for myself over the past five decades, I am convicted in my beliefs and need no further instruction on the virtues of progressive liberalism. For me, it is an argument based solely in emotion devoid of any real common sense or practical application.

I am content to have you all gather in a room together to espouse your beliefs and feel good about how wonderfully superior you are to everyone else. I just have no further use of it.
