Wonderful enhancements to the betterment of ones life. I've studied our relationships with dogs in depth from many acknowledged sources and in the final analysis , who cares why we have this marvelous relationship. Enjoy it and they will as well. Mutual nourishment on many levels.

LOL! LOL! LOL!!
GREAT deep, and well thought out response!! I would have just said: "I love my dog, and he loves me!"
I like dogs better than people anymore......
Funny thing Archie, i am in my late 60's and i finally understand that in such areas as this, once you've researched enough to know the basics, drop the books and enjoy.
My little pal gal is 2.5 yr old 15 lb Havanese. It seems that both our lights came on about the same time and it's amazing. We communicate. Weird. I did mess up and taught her to vocalize. Now she won't shut up. Only two of her 9 or 10 distinct sounds are barks. Funny as hell when I won't look at her and she has something very important to convey. She'll go thru them all looking for the one that works. I've watched her body language, her level of excitement and her vocalization and starting to get better and better at figuring out what she needs. On her end there is less confusion.
She understands several verbal and several hand signals. Shes a communicator. I got lucky. She's a sweetie.

show quote)
We have 3! One is a Corgi, 16 years old. Not long for this world.
We also have an 8 year old Kelpie, who runs the place. And then there is the 18 month old rescue dog!
Makes life good!
