"The law of the Lord" is a term used to reference the law of Moses, the commandments, judgments, testimonies, statutes, and all matters regulating observances, burnt offerings, sabbaths, feast days, new moons, and every aspect of a written covenant agreement between God and the nation Israel, in a volume called "The Scriptures," or, simply, "This book."

I Kng 2:3
"And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses,"

Josh 1:8
"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein:"

II Chr 31:3
"He appointed also the king's portion of his substance for the burnt offerings, to wit, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the set feasts, as it is written in the law of the LORD."

II Chr 34:21
"Go, enquire of the LORD for me, and for them that are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is poured out upon us, because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD, to do after all that is written in this book.

Luke 24:44-45
"And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. 45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,"

We are told that the written law gave the Jews paraklhsews and brought them to Christ, who is our paraklhtos with the father. We are told further, that He will send another paraklhtos, that he may abide with you for ever;

We are also told 1 Corinthians 14:21 "In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord." But we find this writing in Isa 28:11, which we are told is "the law" in which it is written.

"But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. 23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. 24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster."[Gal. 3:22-25]

[NOTE:"paraklhsews" is one who calls a helper]
"For whatsoever things (the scriptures) were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and (paraklhsews) comfort of the scriptures might have hope. 5 Now the God of patience and(paraklhsews) consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:"[Rom. 15:4-5]

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he (the God of paraklhsews) shall give you another paraklhtos, that he may abide with you for ever;

The God of paraklhsews gives paraklhsews through the scriptures, which were sufficient to bring the Jews unto Christ, who is our paraklhtos with the Father.
1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an paraklhtos with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

"And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the reema [word] of God:[Eph. 6:17]

"Which" is an adjective which modifies not "sword" but "Spirit. It is the SPIRIT which is the reema of God. It is the Spirit which is in the power of a sword, good for cutting and for defending. If one will just use what is written, one is prepared to both attack and cut asunder any attacking argument against God's word.

And while it is considerably good to have a double edged sword to both attack, and defend, it is even better to have something better than a two-edged sword; "For the logos [word] of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." [Heb. 4:12]

So if you are armed with the Spirit, God's sword or rhma (pronounced reyma), AND if you allow Jesus to fulfill his logos by living in you, No POWER ON EARTH can stand against your power to fight, for it is the power of God in both his logos and his reema, his son living in you, and his spirit held aloft in your hand and heart, ready to do battle.

For those who say the rhma cannot possibly be the Holy Spirit of God, I can only say "How then can you believe "the logos was God."[John. 1:1]

So God gave comfort through the scriptures, and promised to send another comforter; which he did when he sent another set of writings called "Scriptures," which we are told is the written rhma, the Holy Spirit of God.

And we are told the scriptures can testify, foresee, and preach; all of which demonstrate characteristics of person.

John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Galatians 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

It was through the comfort of the scriptures that Israel was given hope, and it is through those same scriptures that we understand the basis for our hope, Jesus Christ living in us, we in Christ; Christ in God, God in Christ, God all in all.
