Red vs Blue.. Divide and conquer...Capitalism vs socialism...WE THE PEOPLE... A disinformed e*****rate....The Constitution....The Law... Tax...Freedom...The Patriot Act...Citizens United... The Supreme Court....The Tea Party...History Repeats itself...Technology vs Humanity...Religion.... Just some key words on another political web site? As Americans we all still enjoy our freedom of speech... Information...misinformation...disinformation...The t***h.... How do you form your opinions? As a people we must learn to work together or WE THE PEOPLE will fade from history. If you put a frog in water and slowly raise the temperature it will stay there until its dead. Eisenhower's farewell speech? How could have known? I have no desire to sway your opinion or your v**e, All I ask is to seek the t***h no matter how shocking or hard to find it is... All this left vs right crap is what's keeping America in hot water. Good luck to all...America still can be the best nation ever on the planet if we choose to and make it so. And I do apologize if this has offended any... Its just the mindless rant of a tired patriot

The one item I would add to your list is the NDAA as it goes somewhat in hand with The Patriot Act.

America was the "best nation on the planet", now, maybe not. What changed? Belief in core values is what is keeping the conflict going. If everyone had the same "core beliefs", everyone would work together. One person's "t***h" is another person's "falsehood". Your idea is quite laudable, but will never happen. I think everyone (not counting muslims) wants this country to be the "best", however, how we achieve that goal is part of the conflict. The other part is what constitutes the "best"? Is it where the government "takes care of everyone" from cradle to grave? Is it where everyone works hard and strives to be responsible for oneself? Should America "govern" itself based on our past success or should America be "governed" based on the beliefs and opinions of the rest of the world (including those that have never been a "success)? These questions and more call for an "opinion" from each and every "legal" citizen in America. And as we know, "opinions are like assh***s, everybody has one". Finding the "t***h" is what most honest people strive to do, but the "t***h" can be very "complicated" and "convoluted".
It would be nice if everyone had the same "core values", but we simply don't. We have to work to try to "mesh" these values into something that works for all, but that is almost impossible to do, given the sheer numbers of different values and beliefs. Only my opinion.

So which side do you suggest should capitulate its values to the other? If you never apologize for your values then there will always be division.

emarine: I to am a retired combat veteran - but you must understand the majority of Americans have been pumped full of sand by most powers in place for political gain. We had better work at the grass roots, including family and establish moral and principle in our thinking. If not revolution will take place and a culling will clean the land!
