it was a busy day in the drs office when an elderly man arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb he said he had an 8oclock appointment and that he was in a big hurry.A busy nurse told him to take a seat and the dr would see him as soon as possible.Noticing the old gentleman nervously looking at his watch and obviously being agitated the nurse took pity and asked the dr if it would be ok if she removed the stitches and bandaged the wound.Evaluating the wound and seeing that it was well healed she proceed
to do so.
she then asked the old man what was so important to him that he was so nervous. The old man said that he wasn't nervous, just in a hurry because he had to go to the nursing home to have breakfast with his wife. The nurse said that was very sweet and inquired of her health.the old man said that his wife had Alsheimers disease and that she no longer knew who he was and hadn't recognized him in over two years.
the sympathetic nurse said"and you still go every morning to have breakfast with her even though she don't know who you are?"
the old man just smiled ,patted her hand and stood up to leave and said.
"SHE DONT KNOW ME BUT I KNOW WHO SHE IS!!"

   Only you, Mr. B!! So perversely funny that is. My mother hasn't known me for years now and before that she thought, in her paranoia, I was out to take over the world. Hey, I could own that. Since Alzheimer's, among other things, looms large in my family, some of my cousins and I got into a discussion about our collective futures one day at a family reunion. My one cousin, who is adopted, said with a laugh that she was going to escape our purported fate. Her sister, smirking, turned to her, with such a lovely, beaming smile on her face and queried 'well now, who do 'you' suppose is going to take care of all of us?' We found that rather funny!! What a gotcha moment!!

Yeah, but if she doesn't, none of you will know about it or care for that matter, if you have Alzheimer's.

Alzheimer's is the one disease that k**ls the person who has it, and crushes the survivors.

my grand mother died at a hundred and two
she had had Alsheimers for two years
when I went to see her she thought I was the doctor and was going to let her go home from the hospital
I always cried

Maybe someday we will be rid of it. Hope so.
One look at this map and I'm more befuddled. No rhyme not reason for the lop sided figures.

Kind of weird that Russia and all her old satellites hardly show up. Just sayin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
