Just kidding. Looking to find a place in this community. Anabaptist upbringing. That means a BIG GOD. Oh, and what may look like, at first blush, a very liberal point of view. I don't see it that way. Christ and his message is unseemly radical and challenging. If one is not disconcerted and uneasy, one is not paying attention. But I could be wrong.

I am not totally up to speed on the political front but I am not ignorant or naive. The Democrats favor a few things that should instantly forbid joining their ranks, such as a******n (though there is some wiggle room there on that issue). But the Republicans seem at every level to be against the message of Christ. I need to read more to find firm ground.

This isn't the place to "find firm ground"... You need to go elsewhere - do your research before coming here - and inform us here on what you've found...

ColdDrink?

I'm a bit puzzled. Just where do you think the Republicans are "against the message of God"? I suspect an overwhelming majority of church-going people in this country are Republicans.

Hi Cold Drink and welcome to the forum from a recent member. A couple of ground rules that helped me. Look past the front of fiscal 'conservatism' for the real conservatives that join fiscal conservatism with the moral aspect also. A great big f**g for the false front 'fiscal' conservatives are those who resort to insult and injury on a personal level first rattle out of the hat. Any rattle out of the hat for that matter. As a Christian, we realize that Love is the power, not h**e. There are a few 'conservatives' on here as well as liberals that haven't grasped that basic tenet yet. The other would be to do ten times more at a community level than you do in here. Just my two 'sense'.

Oh, gee, cold drink. My GOD is the only thing big in my life. I am a follower of Jesus and yes, His teachings are radical and unseemly to those who don't have the Holy Spirit.
I live in SC, and am disappointed with the big deal being made (as a distraction by government) about a f**g.
During this time, Obeyme has not only pushed the trade act through, but the NATIONAL DEFENSE AUTHORITY ACT.
The NDAA allows my government to "disappear" me because it doesn't like what I say, think, or do.
My freedom is of utmost importance, not any piece of cloth which people decide to be offended.
Is the general public so stupid to let themselves be distracted by false f**gs created by the NWO government?

I suppose the key phrase is "church going".
Doesn't make them a follower of Jesus.

Depends on your definition of church. If it is the brick and mortar, God tells us the tares are there and leave em alone and go yourself and don't count the hypocrites. Granted not all in any group have that relationship with Christ that indwelling that gives your life the appearance of His life to a lost an dying world.

If you mean Church in the spiritual sense, the only ticket in is that relationship with Him.

Well, you certainly have a way with words. I had NO idea what to expect as I read the words 'looking to put everyone...' You made me look. That said, welcome.
Just a suggestion, but you 'might' want to have a look/see at others' posts. They will give you valuable insight.

Well,L, cold didn't specify.
We are the body with Christ as the head.
I am embarrassed of the label "Christian" , you can imagine and know why, and choose to identify myself as a follower of Jesus.

Wow, very refreshing and encouraging, thank you. I will probably disappoint but right now I am glad I came.

Yes, sorry, that was a most unfortunate over-statement. There are a few issues close to my heart that I feel are in keeping with the way of Christ that Republicans oppose. They are not, as mis-stated, "against the message of God." I will strive to be more careful in my speech.

I am with you. Though I do rankle at some of the sordid and h**eful attacks on the president, filled with lies and innuendo, Obama does seem out of touch with the basics of a democracy. And more d******eness at making an issue over the "Confederate F**g." Much more prayer is the answer.
