How We Forest People Celebrate the Fourth

When people in my rural area get together, it resembles a meeting of the U.N. We gather in the small town closest to us. We have a block party and in the evening fire works.

One thing I noticed, the new citizens are the most patriotic. One of my neighbors from China just became a U.S. citizen. We threw her one hell of a party. She made a wonderful speech about how grateful she was to live in a free country and how lucky those born here, truly are. She waited years to become a citizen. She has no patience with those you come illegally. This woman has seen horrors not even imaginable to me.

The food was fantastic. My doctors agree I have lost to much weight. This party should have taken care of that. It was a day to celebrate how despite our differences we are all Americans.

In our small rural community we have a very diverse group. We have people from: Russia, China, Romania, Mexico, all over Europe, and various South American countries. All have achieved citizenship through the proper channels and all consider themselves Americans. It was an honor to celebrate the fourth with people who truly appreciate being American.

I wish I could have been there! I've seen that phenomena myself, where people from elsewhere, are more appreciative than those who were born here. There's nothing like suffering to make one appreciate the absence of such. For too many Americans, they've never truly suffered, never experienced starvation, oppression, brutality and other horrors, so these things are only concepts and don't really understand them.

Perhaps, if Americans experienced some true hardships elsewhere and then returned, they'd have a better appreciation of what it means to be an American citizen - and treat that like the privilege it is - not as a "right", to take for granted. That would certainly cut down on the controversy's about silly stuff, like we see now, so we could concentrate on stuff that's real.

Sounds a lot like what we do around here.
How are you doing, did the treatments help ? We have been thinking about you while you were having the therapy.

So far so good. You know doctors. They keep warning me not to forget it could still fail. I have faith in all the prayers people said for me. I feel better than I have in years, more energy and no chair so far.

I am thankful to all the wonderful people, who found it in their hearts to pray for me. I can never repay such a debt.

Those of us who have been praying for you are just repaying some of the debt that we owe others who have prayed for us, and Jesus Christ who sacrificed all for our salvation. We will keep praying for your complete recovery.

I believe this is an example of the difference in people longing for freedom and the people longing for a hand out. The new citizens in my community want to be Americans. They are thankful this country allowed them to become citizens. I have never heard one single person complain about the long wait or the back ground checks. Maybe because they had nothing to hide.

Anything achieved easily is not as appreciated as something you must work for. By just opening the borders, we are not getting people who will be an asset to our society. We are getting the dregs of other societies. Just my opinion.

I think the thing which angers me the most is the people from Central America, South America, and Mexico who came legally and have asked for nothing from this government are being lumped in with the criminals. I feel opening the borders is insulting to those who came legally.

I do not believe they were celebrating diversity but what unites us, and they were all American citizens, proud to be here, having worked and EARNED that right. Diversity was the last thing on their minds.

The UN Is Calling This A P******c In Mexico

Quote:
A wave of homicides targeting female victims — labeled as femicides — has been sweeping the State of Mexico, the sprawling suburb that engulfs Mexico City. While government officials have not provided exact figures, the National Citizen Femicide Observatory estimates six women are murdered a day, and a United Nations body has described the situation as a p******c.

Quote:
The court declared it is the "duty of investigative bodies to investigate every violent death of a woman, to determine whether or not this is a case of femicide."

Between 2012 and 2013, at least 535 women were murdered in Mexico state, according to the National Citizens Observatory on Femicide, or OCNF in Spanish.

That rate of violence against women is the highest in the country and is believed to be higher than the worst rate of femicide reported in Ciudad Juarez, the Mexican border city that became an international symbol for the unsolved murders of women.
The court declared it is the "duty of investi... (show quote)
