I must have western blood in my veins. I love the good westerns made by these guys. Favorite actors in order: Randolph Scott, Joel McCrae, Audie Murphy, John Wayne, Clint Eastwood. I like many of the late 30's and forties guys, but most on here probably wouldn't know who I was talking about.

You haven't been on here long enough to realize that this is basically a forum of older folks. I'm guessing the average age of OPP posters would be about mine...66 years old. The majority of us know of whom you are speaking, quite well :!:  I kind'a favor Ben Johnson, although he rarely had a leading role.

You are right, he has only been here three days. The ink is still wet on his keyboard.

There are several of us in our 80's - so you may be a 'youngen'.

Welcome. I was taught to respect my elders and it sounds like you deserve more respect than most. You may very well be the oldest poster here, possibly in all the world. I remember most of these but not all. Thank you for h*****g in there on your last leg and holding on for dear life in an attempt to pass some of what you have learned while your mind is still clear.

HEY, Ruf - I'm in my 80's, cared for my 95 yr old husband, who still had his mind up to the end, and all but one of his natural teeth.

We may have MILES behind us, even though we've picked up a lot of dust, we are active and keep the cobwebs out of the corners.

But, we love you, even though you're nothing but a young whipper snapper :XD:

some great man(or woman)back when I was a growing lad
started showing free outdoor movies
though these movies were mostly silent
all of us got a great thrill out of sitting on a blanket or just on the ground and watching our heroes, Gene Autry,Bob Steele ,Roy Rogers and Buck Rogers
life was much simpler then
thanks Jack for bringing back great memories :

All of these Westerners are superb, but there is also James Stewart who made some very entertaining oaters like "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance."
