Liberals tend to have a knee-jerk reaction to the very mention of guns. They get especially vehement when it comes to guns in schools because we must protect our children at all costs!
Which is why conscientious liberals want to train our kids to throw cans of soup against an intruder armed with a gun who enters a school. Because liberals know that all of these children armed with soup cans will prevent another Sandy Hook atrocity!
Im sure that these soup cans would be fully-loaded, completely full with vegetable soup, cream of mushroom soup, chicken noodle soup, or the ever-deadly beef stew preferably organic and free-range.
Now, call me crazy, but Im thinking if a group of adults were to throw soup cans at someone with a loaded gun, I doubt that they would fair very well. In fact, I think the gunman would win.
And liberals want to send our kids into that kind of a fight with soup cans.
Mike Adams notes,
The way this works, we are told, is that The canned food item could stun the intruder or even knock him out until the police arrive. The canned food item will give students a sense of empowerment to protect themselves and will make them feel secure in case an intruder enters their classroom.'
All I really want to know at this point is whose idea this is so that we can send them packing. This wont protect our children. This will make them sheep for the slaughter.

Actually, a great many everyday items can be used as weapons and yes, even against a gunman. I wouldn't recommend training 5 year olds to use them though, as they haven't the maturity to avoid using them on their parents or other adults.
By the same token, just having a firearm isn't a guarantee of success against another with a firearm, if that other person is more sk**led or has had more training with that weapon - and actually used it on a human. I've seen soldiers hesitate a second too long when in a real life situation. I've also seen cops begin blasting away - because they were scared and panicked.
I still say gun control is a joke, but self control is a life saver.

Guns do not now, nor have they ever needed controlling, just the folks who use or more appropriately, misuse them need controlling. Taking guns away from law abiding citizens, is not gun control, it is victimization.

You forgot, windage and elevation. Squeeze, don't jerk, keep both eyes open, unless you are using a scope.

The only thing worse than taking a knife to a gun fight, is taking a can of Campbell's chicken and stars soup.

I prefer the family size steak and vegetables. You can disarm anybody with that pretty easily - if you know how and have trained extensively.
Like I said, the whole concept of gun control is ridiculous. Not that I believe we should return to the old wild west days, mind you, but that the concept is flawed. Something along the lines of an automatic death penalty, if a firearm is used to k**l someone - that MIGHT make folks think twice before pulling the trigger - then again, maybe not.

You may be on to something there, but it will never come about. To many folks make excuses for murders, poor childhood, abuse, mental problems, etc. Murder is murder, rather a gun, knive, fork or spoon. Automatic Death Penalty if convicted - no appeal, so the judge and jury better get it right the first time.
