 Nothing like a hot Cajun Gal. Glad you are enjoying yourself. I was in Memphis today with temps in the 90's, humidity at 55% and a heat index of 103. A little hotter than I like. Thank you for your service.

I lived in New Orleans until I was 7. My Dad went to Baptist Theological Seminary and had a church in Amite. I love Gumbo, red beans and rice, po boy sandwiches. I just love Cajun food and zydeco music. I enjoy the whole atmosphere of New Orleans. My Mom and I are going down in October. I was in Destin, Fl. on the beach when Katrina hit. It was pretty serious but more of a tropical storm. Five of us stayed in my bldg. I lost power for about 6 hrs. but otherwise did pretty good. My place is about 300 ft from the beach and on the seventh floor.

 I ,owned a Gardening and Landscaping shop in the 9th Ward, and when Katrina hit, my shopped was totally washed out. I don't even know what's going on down there if they are even making any repairs.

From what I understand they have made great strides in many areas. I went through a couple of years ago at Mardi Gras and things were looking up. Bobby Jindal has also done well for New Orleans. I may be able to report more details after I go in October cause I'm going for a week strictly for pleasure.
