It is nice to see you post about an issue.
The problem is as it has always been, where are you going to go?
You can vote for one of the moderates, a right winger who cannot win or someone you consider a socialist.
Or you can stay home.

Wow, Vern! You can't win for los'in; can ya? You won't vote for a Dem, ever; and your good friends on the Republi-can'ts side, won't help you, either. My, my, you're almost a man without a country.

In spite of everything you've predicted will go wrong, the good 'ol U.S. of A. is still plugging along. We're celebrating a turn-around in our economy (that'll be even better once the "job-creators" decide they've made enough money, and that it's now okay to begin to hire people), more people have healthcare (in spite of the Republi-won'ts continued efforts at undoing the ACA), it's now legal, in all 50 states for those of the LGBT persuasion to have the same civil rights that most everyone else gets, and the influx of illegals (hell-bent on raping our women-folk and selling drugs to everyone in your household), are at an all-time low, and going lower. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, here.

Just who do you think would be a president that would accomplish all of your wants and wishes? Is there a political party that can satisfy your desire for 0-government with 0-taxes? Is there a political party that can qurantee everyone an equal opportunity (NOT an equal share) to share in our country's wealth and prosperity? Is there a political party that will deport EVERYONE that's snuck across our borders within the last 15 years and qurantee that those deported won't ever return? Do you know any political party that advocates eliminating Social Security by 'privatizing' it; with the guarantee that should there ever be another crash or depression in our economy, that those receiving SS will still get their money? Is there any political party that can guarantee that any and all of their domestic and foreign policies will never lead to more unemployed, more homeless, more under- and/or un-insured citizens, or to our putting 'boots on the ground' or 'planes in the sky's' of perceived threats to our 'national security?'

If you ever locate that party, please let the rest of us know which party it is. Unless and until that party is organized, I'm afraid that we'll just have to go with the few we have.

But, as an after-thought, why don't we come together and try to find solutions to our common issues? Let's stop acting like children and more like adults and come to agreement on what is better for the majority of ALL Americans; not just the wealthy or just the poor; but, ALL of us. Do you think that would ever work?

Now, I realize that trying it this way would necessitate our employing the new "dirty word," compromise. But, from what I've read in my old, dusty and musty history books, "compromise" actually worked in our past history.

It makes me wonder, if we tried real hard, and if we would actually represent "the people" and quit representing only those who donated the most money to our elected representatives, that we just might begin to see ourselves as Americans; and not as Republican, Democrat, Tea Party, socialist, liberal, or conservative, or any other adjective or adverb that can separate us. I wonder how much better we, as a country, could be if we actually started our political conversations with another "dirty word," respect.

Call me 'overly optimistic,' or even 'overtly optimistic,' but, I think it could actually work.

Just saying....

There are no great vast numbers of new jobs. That is a lie from Obama. Further right on this same thread, you all post about the GOP not doing anything for new jobs....so then what has your King Obama done for new jobs? Nothing. Oh snap, he has expanded the government so that taxpayers can pay more taxes for new government waste of jobs.....

You have your backs to the water and cannot swim....and Trump and other real Patriots are going to push you right off the map. The USA is all done with all of you Traitors! You are all doomed.

Ha! Your rage betrays you. It is you who are doomed. You can't stop the world from turning, and changing under your impotent nose. Rage, rage against the machine that is historical change. Lament the fact that you cannot stop progress. Wail and gnash your teeth, and then go meet your maker, know full well that those you leave behind will have a better world when you are gone.

AO, other than political campaign rhetoric, what has this to do to answer the question of where the jobs are that the GOPTP had promised us they'd "create" if they were given a majority in both houses of Congress? If you want to increase the oligarical rule that already has a strong hold on America, then voting for a "businessman" like Chump, will be the way to go. If you want to see more jobs "created," rest assured, they won't be "created" in the USA. They'll be "created" overseas where labor is cheaper and protective regulations like workers safety, consumer protection & environmental protection aren't observed.

Chump will do his upmost to undo decades of laws and regulations designed to protect the worker, consumer and the environment. If you would think through Chump's campaign rhetoric, he's making a lot of promises he can't keep, even if he were to be elected President.

He's playing on the sentiments of people by telling them they have to be mad at, and be afraid of, people who have no control over the country's state of affairs. AO, you, like myself, enjoy studying history. Go back and read the history of the rise of Hitler. He used the same methodology as Chump is presently employing, as well as Cruz and a few others on the political right. Hitler blamed the German government/administration for Germany's woes. He also pointed his finger at the Jews as the ones who influenced the government and the other world powers to continuely add to the economic and social evils that Germany found itself in. Remember too, the German economy was in shambles because the Treaty of Versailles issued very harsh and stringent restrictions on Germany for their part in WW1. Add to that, the world economic depression and the ensuing stock market crashes that occurred in the same timeframe. All of that ended up being blamed on the German government and the Jewish people.

Germans were looking for a scapegoat to blame for their problems. It mattered not to them who, whom, or what, either. (Lord knows, just like our present-day issues, none of them were/are self-inflected. Somebody or something else is at fault; or so we like to think.) As such, they were easily duped and Hitler was able to stir up anti-government feelings and anti-Semetic feelings and strum those feelings just like a harp. The rest, as they say, is history.

Now, substitute our current government/administration for the German government of 1925 through 1933, when Hitler took control of the German government and substitute Hispanics for the Jews. Go back and review some of the old newsreels of Hitler and his rise to power. Compare his rhetoric and tactics to Chump and Crazy-Cruz. Then tell me if you don't see some strikingly similar parallels. The commonalities between Hitler and Trump/Chump and Crazy-Cruz are very, very scary.
