A VICTORY SONG

EXODUS 15:2

The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation;
He is my God, and I will praise Him;
My father's God, and I will exalt Him.

This was the song that Moses and the Israelites sang to God, to celebrate His victory over the Egyptians at the Red Sea. A commentary* says that Moses called to pharaoh, on the other side of the sea, saying, You asked who the Lord was. Now you know.

How many times has the Lord been with you and assisted in your victory over some conflict or event in your life? How many times did you just take it for granted that it was your personal achievement, or did you realize a greater power was at work? When you got older, and had time to reflect back on the progress in your life, did you then begin to realize how you had won out against adverse odds? Do you now consider, if God had not helped me in that situation, it may not have gone so well?

One incident in my life came when I really needed a job. I had applied for a clerk/steno position, and failed the typing test. The job required a lot of typing. By the grace of God, I got the job in spite of my failure. It didn't take me long to get my typing up to par, faster and better, including numbers. This was back on the old IBM electric type writers.

*Commentary - this was in the accompanying notes of my Bible.

I am posting this early because I am not feeling well. Please keep me in prayer.

b A VICTORY SONG br br br EXODUS 15:2 /b br b... (show quote)

Yes, Psalms 22:16 For dogs have compassed me: The assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want....
Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord ... Last one for today is Psalms 30:5 For His anger endureth but a moment; In His favour is life. Weeping may endure for a night, But joy cometh in the morning. Remember The prayer of the righteous man availeth much. Hope this helps you.

Thank you, I appreciate your suggestions. When we turn to Jesus and the Word, we can find our answer.

I had received a PM from a friend that reminded me how the devil works so diligently to somehow destroy believers. His time is drawing short, as I'm sure we all feel the end times are fast coming upon us. At any rate, that reminder had me WISE up to his tactics, so in the name of Jesus I rebuked him. Satan will not ride on my shoulders as long as I have Jesus and the power of the spoken word. Praise the Lord, and yes, I am feeling better.
