Don't know of any liberal who is trying to take your guns. I know someday we will have some kind of gun registration, and background checks to keep guns out of the hands of mental patients, and convicted felons. There are already areas where the law abiding citizens cannot get a permit to carry a gun. Recent court cases showed that was unconstitutional.

Just write a law banning h**e and another law requiring all criminals to obey the other laws. Apparently, we still think criminals have a sense of honor and, if enough laws are written, the sheer number will require them to obey.

Perhaps, we might try actually punishing criminals, harshly and see if that works. The more lenient we've become, the more criminals repeat crimes they've already been found guilty of at least once before.

Think about it; when a child is raped, the first place cops look - is at people who have already raped a child. The same thing occurs for most other crimes too. What if there were no possibility for a second crime? Who would the cops look at then?

Perhaps, if an automatic death penalty, without appeal, was standard for violent crimes - there'd be fewer of those. Perhaps, if an automatic life without parole were standard, for child sex crimes and adult rape - there'd be fewer of those too.

Until we make up our minds to PUNISH those who commit crimes and PREVENT them from committing additional crimes - everything else is just rhetoric - and useless.

There is such a thing as an assault rifle. It's a machine gun. It fires full auto. They are already severely restricted. Obama did not try to ban them, they are already banned.

Obama tried to ban semi automatic hunting and sporting rifles (one of them was the most popular rifle in the US- an AR 15). All the things he tried to ban were semi automatic rifles many people use for hunting.

Rifles for military use? The military does not use AR 15's Dumbass. The military does not use any of the rifles Herr Obama tried to ban.
