No jackass, he was talking about American casualties, which were around 100,000. This is not counting Krauts or civilians.

I think there is a chance that you misread your buddy's numbers and what they pertained to so maybe you best go back and see them again.

As to that weapon, I am sure FDR didn't know it was a strategic weapon so would have to be used in Germany on one of their cities. Just think he could have destroyed both armies in one fell swoop.

Earth to moron: Germany surrendered BEFORE the bomb was ready.

No, jackass, it would depend on the size of the bomb. Even today we have tactical nuclear weapons meant for battlefield use. And as long as a bomb is airburst rather than ground burst it does not produce fallout. There was no fallout with either of the bombs we dropped on Japan. The radiation damage was due to the fact that the bombs weren’t strong enough to k**l everybody who was exposed to the bombs’ initial radiation.

What difference does it make, jackass? My point was to document the fact that Obama has been to Normandy for D-Day anniversary ceremonies- contrary to the what the i***t who started this thread wants us to believe. I don’t give a damn what Obama said when he was there.

We used propaganda mainly to illustrate how brave and effective our fighting forces were. We didn’t want another allied country to steal the spotlight or our thunder lest civilian support for the war effort decline. We could have easily slacked off after Kursk thinking we could let the Russians do most of the fighting. But this would have prolonged the war while enabling the Russians to end up controlling more of Europe after the War.

Not hardly: (Defining propaganda)
Propaganda is a form of communication aimed towards influencing the attitude of the community toward some cause or position by presenting only one side of an argument. Propaganda statements may be partly false and partly true. Propaganda is usually repeated and dispersed over a wide variety of media in order to create the chosen result in audience attitudes.

-------------------------------------------------------

We (as did all countries engaged in war with another country) primarily used propaganda to dissuade the enemy from combat or encourage our own solders to continue fighting, or fight more aggressively. Propaganda can also be used to influence those left at home to save, contribute and support the war effort.

Towards the enemy: Things like trying to make the fighters homesick or convincing them they should return home to protect their loved ones who were being assaulted from any number of terrors. Towards our own troops, we would be reminding them what is back home that they are protecting - or - should be.

Before you get off promoting things like distributing disinformation to the enemy, please remember that is not propaganda, although similar to propaganda it is only part of psychological warfare, aka PSYOPs

Here are some examples.....

Go to Hell.

I wouldn't even go to hell if ordered to do so by Obama so why would I do it for one of his supporters. Actually I don't think you really know what propaganda really is. You think it is just something that you lefties can use as a method to escape having to tell t***h.

What, is propaganda, one more time? Well maybe you can steal some info from somewhere else in this thread. My definition is much simpler than any other I have seen here but at least I don't use the word as a tool, as you do.

WOW. You don't care what the man said, only that he was there and delivered a speech. Since you have read so much one would think that just maybe you would have taken a minute or two to read the speech when you provided a link to it.

Nice try, but he doesn't care what a word means only that he knows how to use it. Much like he linked us to Obama's speech at the 65th reunion but didn't give a damn what he said.

Lol, ofcourse not oldroy, he and "mudInyourface" are just here to waste everybody's time. As far as I'm concerned he is an imbecile that still owes AuntiE an apology, and he deserves no dignified response until he does so.

I concur. (Both that he is an imbecile and owes AuntiE a couple of apologies)

JTK ,This is off subject but you said you lived in Florida and I would like yo to do something for me , could you put out a couple glass containers to collect rain water and see if there is any residue in the water after the storm and let me know if there is and we can go from there

It rained here last night. Both of the jars I had set out to collect rain water had black flake-like particulate matter in them this morning. I'll set the jars up again and see if the same thing happens.
