The building in number 33 is still standing and being used today. It is a "Gulah" Restaurant and Gift Shop. Stands right on a highway intersection. Amazing.

The flour sacks, frame #30, were washed up and used as dish towels. Or, in some cases used to make clothes.
Frame #42, that's when boys were encouraged to just be boys. Too bad that is no longer the case, now the powers that be work to confuse a child's identity.
Frame #46 through #50, & #'s 53-54, brought a smile to my face - I worked for the Chicago & North Western, even worked at Proviso for a year, but not until the 70's. Back then, Proviso was huge, but Heineman sold off a lot of it, so he could get rich, t***sfer the money to another business and leave the railroad in bad financial shape. The turd!
Really nice pictures Don, I enjoyed them. Thanks.

The photos of homesteaders remind me of my grandparents who homesteaded near Gillette Wyoming starting in the 20's and the land is still in the family today.
