Just came across this website and it looks very lively and interesting. I am a retired administrative assistant, a cancer survivor for 11 years, and am so joyous to still be among the living. Conditions in this country of late are drawing out the patriotism in me and bringing me out of my former state of shyness. I am learning to say what I mean, and say it in a nice way. However, I don't have time to beat around the bush, life is short ("eat dessert first"). My husband and I are temporarily homebound right now so I enjoy reading and joining in discussions in between periods of crisis at home. Looking forward to getting acquainted with members here. God Bless America.

Welcome Florida - this is a good site with a lot of good people - and a few who cannot discuss issues so only respond by personal attacks. I'd suggest you not even respond to folks like that, I suspect you are a lady of too much class to descend to those levels. I look forward to lively discussion with you

Hey Dave, thanks for the nice welcome. There are always a few who cannot discuss issues without getting snarky. Will rise above all that I can but I'm Irish and sometimes it bursts forth - like that lady who gave the speech in the Irish Parliament. I have been told that my grey hair turns red. Thanks for the useful information.

Welcome! You're right, this sight is "lively and interesting". You can also learn a lot from the posts here. Most of us see a topic for discussion and respond with our opinions (and even research the topic before responding), however, it can get a little "bloody", as some can't respond without letting their emotions dictate what is said. But, generally, it's a great site for discussion.
Remember, not all of us from MA. are liberal!

My wife didn't survive I lost her in Oct. 2009 to breast cancer she was 63 at the time. As for Inyourface under the AFCA OIllegal would have sent her home with a pain pill and no hope. The death panels will help lower the premiums don't you know.

I'm born and bred Texan, but recently moved to another of my favorite states, Arizona mountain country, and love it! From time to time you may "hear" my Texas drawl - I spent 20 years in California without losing it!!

Florida Girl, what you will find here are those who use racially tinged, eupemisims and call it polite discussion. They are the low information bigots who call themselves conservatives when they are just segregationists ,renamed.
