There are three quite puzzling and very disturbing sections in the OT as pertains rape

The Duggar saga in ancient Jerusalem, at the loving hands of David. Sanction for not just Roman Catholic pedophile crimes but a standard for the Church to abuse women? Impossible such a thing is in the Bible? Both Genesis and Deuteronomy have (beyond our mortal and visceral and reasonable understanding, a mystery) very ugly allowances and explanations for rape and a polite coverup. But what Amnon did to Tara and what happened after makes Christianity Duggar's best friend.

Curious: Amnon never says his sister, though she is, but the sister of Absalom, his brother. Denial is then and now not a river in Egypt.

Curious. Not a word. Where are the fundamentalists here trying to make this some obscure lesson on women not just being inferiority but utterly without value or respect? The Bible says you can rape women and offer women to be raped without consequence, even be rewarded for it. How is Islam worse? Do not respond to the passages I eluded to and you condone the abuse of women, a Republican value, it seems.

Rape is one of the seven deadly sins. Times have changed and rape is not what it used to be. God will change a lot of the laws in the OT, it usually says if a law is perpetual or forever. The Decalogue will stand forever. Isaiah 2:3 "...for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem". Daniel 7:25 "...and think to change times and laws..."

The guilty are those who will not repent or have committed a deadly sin. The seven deadly sins in the NT are not sins at all, let alone deadly. All of us will die and face the judgment of God. If you find yourself in hell, it is not forever. When your sentence is up, your spirit will be snuffed out (drowned) and you will cease to exist. Death is permanent.

There are no 7 deadly sins: that is a Roman Catholic invention.
