With their war against Unions, and amazingly convincing their base to agree with this Elite-mandate, Republicans have guaranteed the end to the Middle Class. Once all protections or bargaining possibilities are gone, per Conservative agenda, more and more bills eroding the benefits and rights of workers will escalate. A job will not be called indentured servitude, but that will be the reality.

I'm amazed any one who actually has a job and is a net tax payer v**es Democratic.

I'm not a big fan of Unions either. I was in two, the Teamsters and the UAW. They never did anything for me other than rip off dues from my paycheck. And I was forced to join the useless Union.

I was treated much better by the companies I worked for later and rewarded more financially without a Union.

Because unions still existed.

I am astonished, seriously and immensely, that anyone with a job or good sense backs the Republicans.

They still exist now. They just don't have a monopoly like they once did.

  When Unions are no more there will not be a standard to judge fairness by. Then it is only the mercy of "Simon LeGree"

That is preposterous that those two unions did nothing for you. You should look again

I lived it. Now if you missed work a lot with no valid excuse (medical excuse, etc.), or showed up late a lot, or grab assed all day the Union helped a person to keep his job.

If you came to work on time and worked, they did nothing for you. Sometimes they were even harmful for the employees.

In fact long after I left Unions, one of the places I worked was negotiating a contract. The company gave them a raise in the negotiations and other concessions and said that's all they could afford. If you want more and strike we are closing up shop and moving down South. We would be losing money if we didn't.

The Union advised them to reject the contract and strike. They struck as was their right. The company closed up shop and moved down South. More than 700 people lost their jobs.

Yep, those Unions sure are great aren't they?

My reasons were to stand on my own merit and be rewarded accordingly instead of being d**gged down by the mediocre.

In a Union your pay is the same for all in your grade, whether they were great, mediocre or absolutely abysmal in performance.

As I stated before I was rewarded much better for my performance when NOT in a Union.

Perhaps some are that way can't deny it. I think many are brainwashed into believing They will get rich if they go along with the party of the rich.
