Didn't one of those bad boys collide with the USS Yorktown (cruiser, not the carrier) back in the late 80's?

I don't know, I wasn't familiar with incidents related to the surface fleet...but certainly was possible. Everytime we came home they did figure "8's" around us trying to listen to our radio traffic. I was phone talker up in the sail. The Captain (Commander Large) would want to ram the Greenpeace boats, but ignored the Russians. Good times and Ahead Flank!

What Navy are you referring to? The USS Yorktown (cruiser) was never stationed on the west coast that I know of. She was out of Norfolk, VA, and then moved to Pascagoula, MS. Yep she was hit in the Black Sea by a Soviet Krivak I class guided missile frigate Bezzavetny.

That's the incident of which I was speaking.

I have a 1st cousin that was a submariner on a nuclear attack sub. Don't know which boat. Not sure what his MOS was either, but, he was discharged from the Navy because he began to sleep-walk while on the boat; and, while sleep-walking, was spouting-off all sorts of classified info. :XD:

Interesting...must have been a radioman.

I was on the USS Plunger and Pintado.

When something is repeated enough, 'you speak it into existence.' If it be lies, telling yourself how you feel, telling another person something, most anything - once it's said, it picks up a life of its own. That in itself is rather ominous, in a strange sort of way. Words having a life of their own.
This is exactly how the lies about Obama's birth certificate, his religion, and how the government is out to take away our guns, that FEMA has detention camps, that Obamacare has death panels, and a myriad of other lies become "facts."

I do think the Bilderberg Group BELIEVES they are the elite who know what's best for everyone - them first, of course! Basing it on Revelation, I do believe we are headed for some VERY disturbing times. Do I believe they will take over the WHOLE WORLD. No, there will be pockets they will not get to, for whatever reason. I also believe, at some point, the Lord will throw their evil plans right in their faces and He will act in an unexpected way to thwart, or make utterly impossible or impractical there desired goal. Beyond that, I have just today to live and I also believe it should be for His glory in trying to be the best person I can be.
Which is why I don't believe or worry about some group of people taking over the world. I do feel that our government is influenced way too much by corporations and their money, and that our country becoming a corporate oligarchy is becoming a very real possibility.

Cindy, my daughter, and her family went to the church where Lee Strobel was a member, and as I recall they knew him. Yes, Christ is real, He lives, and He will return. We'll be giving Bible lessons here - not at all bad!
Wow! I'm impressed! I'd love to meet Strobel ! His testimony is one that needs to be heard by every Christian and non-Christian! A devout atheist becomes a devout Christian. How cool is that!? I'm a very firm believer in "Intelligent Design." Reading Strobel's books helped form my opinions. As to giving Bible lessons on here, isn't there another area on the OPP for that? I'm god to do it if you are!

I know Obama has signed onto some of the garbage from the UN, but cannot act on it because Congress has not passed it. I don't keep up on what, but I'm sure you could find it if you search the net. But, a person can find most anything they want there if they know how and where to look.

I have to make an appointment also, about skin cancer problems. Nothing serious, but being very fair, I have to keep up with it. Praise the Lord, I was NEVER a sun worshiper, looking for a golden tan. First - I never had the patience to lay in the sun and sweat - ugh. Second, I freckle and turn sort of red, never a nice tan - so forget it!!! Therefore, considering my age - my skin is in fairly good shape. Hope you came out fine. Have a good one!

My report came back, "All clear!" So, bring on the sunscreen! We may be related somehow as my skin characteristics seem to mirror yours. I don't tan, I burn then freckle; even at 63. My wife and I love to go to Clearwater Beach and lay under an umbrella. Even then, the reflected rays off the sand, still manage to burn me. We don't mind sweating. The guys driving the 'drink cart' know that we need refills every hour or so.

I/we've never been sun-worshippers, either. But, the thought does intrigue us. Just not sure the rest of the sun-worshippers would be ready for me to walk around nude. Now, my wife has a very great figure. She turns heads everywhere she goes, even fully dressed. I definitely got myself a blessing when we married! My fear is that I'd need to carry a bat around, just to keep the guys back, away from the wife!

Sorry to be so late in responding, BearK. I got busy and simply forgot to respond to you. Mea culpa.

It wasn't anything I did. God brought us together. Compared to my 1st wife, I got Miss Tennessee, Miss America and Miss Universe, all rolled into one nice, neat package! Plus, she loves me for being me. She doesn't try to change me; nor I her. My only regret is that she isn't the mother of my kids. But, she loves them and the grandkids just like they were her own.

Couldn't ask for more without being greedy.

Only reason I even know of it is a friend from high school was on there at the time. Said it was a very interesting four days but I was under the impression it was one day.

Marriages like that are wonderful. A blessing from the Lord.
