Why Do Liberals Hang Onto An Obviously Failed I***tology?

Here's some thoughts:

I believe it's not about reason or rationality any longer (if it ever was), but about power.

(Remember, too, that the Democrat Party attracts those who like power, because it is easier to attain power, with its dependence on demagoguery).

Power is a hunger that, like any addiction, is never satiated.

In most biochemical mechanisms, there is a negative feedback, a mechanism that causes the biochemical reaction to return to normal, or acts as a damping mechanism.

But I wonder if, with power and other addictions, there exists a reinforcement that acts more vigorously than the negative feedback that gives stability. Perhaps this reinforcement is more active in some people than in others. So that, instead of "normalization"--I word I also dislike because it's used so often) there becomes a "resonance".

We need men who can use power, without abusing it.

And that explains it all. The worst of it comes when those indiduals, in their incontrolable hunger for power, be they the extreme right or left, become so enamored of their ideals, as to set aside reason, decency, democracy, which we now enjoy, and go to the extremes that we are now "enjoying' from the far, demented left.Under cover. Pretending to be what they are not.
And one more lie these libtards have been spreading for more years than one can count. They claim that Adolf Shickelgruber, Hitler's original family name, was a right winger, when in fact his party was known by one and all, as

the National Socialist Party.
Are these so called liberals trying to tell us that they are following Hitler's example by pretending to be what they are not?
Births of one feather. And I for one fully believe that. Don,t you?

Before the Iluminati, "liberals" in this case, get bouts of diarrhea, I wish to disclaim my previous error; i mean to write birds of a feather and, obviously, not births. The kinds that should have been aborted every time a potential impostor is born. If only one knew!

I believe you are right about the POWER. But most people like to think they have a little bit of power, no matter how small the power is. Power in itself, however doesn't make most decent people indecent people. BUT, when you add my thinking, it says it all. My thinking is that all people who have a fettish about power, and this spells political left and a very few on the right, this spells out their psychopathology. They have no conscience. They feel no sense of guilt or of shame. They do not understand the soft emotions, but they revel in the harsh emotions such as hatred, anger, intense greed, fighting, smashing things, etc. They understand something being criminal, but they give no thought or understanding as to WHY something is criminal. If they COULD give that up, they MAY change, but I don't think they are capable of giving it up, I don't think they want to give it up, and they will ALWAYS BE CONTROLLING, DEMANDING, NARCISSISTIC, AND DESIROUS OF POWER.

Great post!

There is a definite use, even need, for power. Unfortunately it can be abused and misused, I think, because of its addictive nature.

John Kenneth Galbraith wrote a great book, "The Anatomy of Power".
I may not have agreed with it in whole, and it was to some extent incomplete as well. So much more needs to be studied on "power" and its uses.

Yep. It's always N**i-this and f*****t-that but the Marxists have them completely beat blood-lust-wise and yet they often aren't mentioned in the context of tyranny. Now I'm retty sure that you're not a l*****t of any stripe, but I was wondering if you were maybe falling into one of their semantic traps.

No. I addressed Marxism in other threads. The writings of Marx are the ravings of a child who felt unable to compete.

Socialism itself is a primitive coping mechanism. Mankind has certainly evolved intellectually and spiritually to the point where he can use his gift of foresight to provide an environment (an abundance of opportunities) where people can take care of themselves; i.e. capitalism.

Not only is Capitalism the freest form of economic structure, Socialism must of necessity be totalitarian, because everyone must believe the same, if it to work. Which is how I explained it to my young Vietnamese exchange student when she asked why the newspapers in her country didn't report all the news.

Liberalism among the leadership is different than liberalism among the masses, or even the very well off. Thats why you misunderstand it. The masses like Jesus. The leadership like it that the masses like Jesus.

Not only felt unable to compete (i.e. do pretty much anything useful), but was unable. When he wasn't sponging off daddy, or pissing away his inheritance, he was sponging off Engels.
