little Carol came into the kitchen where her mother was preparing dinner,Her birthday was coming up and she figured this would be a good time to tell her mother what she wanted."mom,i want a red bicycle for my birthday".Now Carol was not a really good little girl.She had got in trouble at school several times.
Carols mother asked her if she really thought she really deserved a bike for her birthday.Carol of course thought she did deserve a bike.Her mother,being a christian woman,told Carol to reflect on her behavior for the past year,and to write a letter to God,telling Him why she deserved a bike for her birthday.Carol stomped from the kitchen,up the stairs to her room,and sat down to write a letter to God.
LETTER # 1
Dear God,I have been a very good girl for the past year and I want a red bicycle for my birthday.
Thank You,Carol
Now Carol knew that was not true.She had not been a good girl for the past year.so she tore up the letter and wrote another.
LETTER# 2
Dear God,this is your friend Carol
I have been pretty good for the past year,and I would like a red bike for my birthday.
Thank You Carol
Carol knew that God would know that this was not true either.so she tore it up and started a new one.
LETTER # 3
Dearest God,
I haven't been very good this past year and I am truly sorry.
but I promise to be a good girl if you will let me have a red bike for my birthday.
Thank You God
Carol knew that even if it was true,this letter was not going to get her the bike,so she tore it up.
Carol went back to the kitchen and told her mother that she wanted to go to church.Her mother thought her plan had worked,because Carol looked so sad.
"Be home in time for dinner dear."Her mother said.
Carol ran to the church that was just up at the corner from her house.Carol entered the church and walked right up to the altar.She looked around to see if anyone was watching.Then she grabbed the statue of The Virgin Mary,slipped it under her jacket and ran from the church back home.She ran up the stairs to her room and sat down to write another letter to God.

HELLO GOD
I GOT YOUR MAMA!!!
IF YOU WANT TO SEE HER AGAIN,
SEND THE BIKE!
YOU KNOW WHO!!!
