The Boy Scouts of America, an organization with semi-military origins, has put out approved activities for its members, and water gun fights are strictly prohibited.

A blog for the organizations leaders said May 6 that pointing simulated firearms at people is not allowed.

Why the rule? A Scouter once told me this explanation I liked quite a bit: A Scout is kind. What part of pointing a firearm [simulated or otherwise] at someone is kind? said Bryan Wendell on the scouting website.

Will someone please tell me where all these wimps came from? Out of the woodwork, I know, but how did so many arrive at once to harass Americans day in and day out. I think banning harmless toys is child abuse, but then, I never met a wimp who gave an ounce of care about children OR abuse. They merely look for what has been practice and tradition for years and years and destroy it for the sheer fun of watching and listening to the disappointment and disgust. Doing such things requires a LOT of hatred, and NO CARING. Bunch of sociopaths!!

It boggles the mind that it's OK to send young boys into the wilderness with q***r scout leaders and the parents are supposed to be OK with that and against having a squirt gun fight. Pointing fingers at someone is now taboo? Put the too-toos on the little darlings and call them q***rs. This isn't the BOY scouts this is the Q***R scouts.

Maybe this has something to do with the Girl Scouts of America's recent decision to allow boys to join the Girl Scouts. God, how glad I am that I won't be around this hellish place many more years. Death will be a release from a nightmare.

Since the Scouts let those people in the change has begun, it probably came from same sex parents who saw a their young person not adhereing to their outlook. Probably some one got hit with a water balloon and cried to their adopted parent and change happened. For sure they will grow up to be soft guys, straight hopefully. And maybe sue to divorce those parents.

When i was there and even in school there was dodge ball, cap guns and yes water pistols now we have supersoakers. play is play and the stance that was here in those days are not the same as today. They start complaining and change happens, that's what I meant.

I grew up in the Bronx, NY in the 50s. A typically tough city neighborhood.
I remember, at maybe 10 years old in 1958, wielding my 2 cap guns (6 shooters) both pistols drawn from their holsters and I fired on the local beat cop while he was leaning on the big mail box at the corner unloading my full roll of caps from both guns and he didn't arrest or shoot me, he simply grabbed his chest and said "O ya got me". It was a fine, fun moment for both of us.
I didn't grow up to be a bad guy, k**ler or physco, and I know I'm just one of many millions who played with toy guns, fire and other currently frowned upon items.
Actual, honest evidence of how ridiculous our current 0 tolerance rules and laws are.
The absurdities of this type behavior toward our children is meant to accomplish what ?????
To prevent them from growing up to be dangerous ? ignoring history and it's evidence.

I love the smell of cap rolls when they fire.
Some days I would use a hammer to blow off a whole roll.
