I am from the lowcounty in the beautiful state of SC. I love my Country and I am furious about what is happening to it ! I was brought up to work for what you have...not to sit on my ass and expect it to be given to me.

What's your definition of a slug? I love my country and worked when I had cancer up to the day of my organ t***splant and am now disabled due to the immuno suppressant drugs. I fought for social security for five years as I couch surfed and went deep into debt trying to survive. I survive on $470.00 amonth now from social security. I gave my youngest daughter to brother to raise. I hope you have walked a mile in those slugs shellsbefore you expertly classify them. I'm sure you have epxperienced chronic pain and illness if not yourself than some one in your immediate family and know the devastating effects it has and would never sarcastically speak of them negatively to increase their suffering with accusations of mouching off society or imply someone's parents of it. Thanks for your compassion. You set a wonderful example that those younger than you can look to.

A slug, in the context used, is someone who refuses to work for a living, but who demands a handout, often from those in worse shape than the worthless slug. NO ONE refers to those who cannot help their circumstances as a slug, NO ONE. People who have the circumstances you and others have are the very ones we WANT TO SEE GET A HELPING HAND. Were it not for the slugs, people such as yourself would have more money to use, but the slugs use it up because they are lazy, they milk the system, they have no character, no conscience, no intelligence, and no talent of value. When we fight the slug, our intent is to help ourselves, of course, but it is also to help YOU and those others in your circumstances who NEED a helping hand. It is truly unfortunate that you must be placed in the same group as slugs, but don't be paranoid about the use of the term "slugs" - NO ONE is referring to YOU. Only YOU are seeing yourself as the slug - no one here does.

Welcome! My parents had practically nothing, but they would have died before taking a dime they didn't work for. That's how I was brought up. I have never visited your state, but I hear it is absolutely beautiful! Hope to see you out and about here on 1PP. There are some good people here!

Your state will be a lot more beautiful when Lindsey Graham no longer represents it in the Senate. There's a shovel ready project. You need more Tim Scotts and less Lindsey RINOs. Grab a topic and jump in. Welcome.

I did not mean that everyone that gets help is lazy...so many people do need it and I don't mind at all giving it, I'm glad you finally got the help you need and deserve.
I work in the subsidized housing industry, and could tell you more stories about users and abusers than I have time to write about. On the other hand, I can also see how there is almost NO WAY, once you get into the system to get out of it.

I do think he just wants a name for himself. I wrote a letter to him several weeks ago and asked for a personal response....still waiting. Maybe one day he can take the time to work for the poeple of his state instead of his ego!
