Democratic Attorney Nominees - a tradition?

Whether Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren or Martin O’Malley is the Democratic nominee, a tradition that began in 1984 will likely continue, depending on the vice-p**********l nominee. Every single Democratic national nominee will have been an attorney with just one exception; Al Gore who never finished Harvard Law School. The Republican list includes a businessman, a businesswoman and two surgeons.

The Democrats are the party of the poor & ordinary Americans? I think this is an item for discussion.

Anyone who hasn't had the Judeo-Christian God educated out-of-them, rod, avoids the current "demonrat" party like the plague; which seems to be ascending on America with every devilish intent. Stay strong and Judeo-Christian patriotic, America, and "May God Have Mercy."

So when electing people who pass and sign laws, and work within our constitiution you think we are better off with candidates who have studied neither. Joe the plumber and his simpelton common sense understanding of life are the way to go over Ivy League educated statesmen. The next time you or a family member needs a gall bladder operation I recommend you go to your common sense pal after all what could that Doctor ever learn from going to one of those snooty godless liberal universities? We need to elect brilliant well educated people to office not some clown you would enjoy drinking beer and playing horseshoes with.

I've referred to them as Democ****es, oops Democrats.

Although I am a registered Republican, I nevertheless hold out little hope for our future. I waited for 16 years from Barry Goldwater to Ronald Reagan who was elected on a platform to eliminate the newly created Departments of Energy & Education. The original members of those departments have long since retired on fat government pensions paid by guess who?

We need someone to go in there not with barber scissors but a machete. It ain't going to happen.

:-o   :hunf: :) :D :-D

So you think the present group of attorneys have done a great job? You don't need to be an attorney to follow the Constitution. That's all these i***ts need to do. You might want to read it some day.

I never said that but of course you infer anything to discredit the observation. Over that same period of time, I think just three Republican national nominees were attorneys.

I also take it that you'd have disqualified most of the Founders, especially the first members of Congress & our presidents, most of whom were tradesmen, businessmen & farmers & few of whom were lawyers.

Oh, BTW, I am a physician & I do think whether I'd ever like to play horseshoes or have a beer with a candidate is important.

And don't forget William Buckley's observation that he'd rather have the United States run by the first two thousand names in the Boston phone book than by the combined faculties of Harvard, Brandeis and Tufts Universitites. To that I'll add the rest of the Ivy League, Stanford, MIT, Smith, Williams, etc. & you, if this is an example of your respect for people.

:) :-) :D :-D :P :-P

Buckley was a soulless asshole who Norman Mailer refered to as having "a second rate intellect incapable of two consecutive serious thoughts in a row." Buckley was essentially another loudmouth like Rush Limbaugh without the benifit of a serious narcotics habit to take the edge off his hubris. As far as his comment about having the country run by the first 2000 names in the Boston phone book, it would be worth a shot as they are mostly Democrats and we would flush out the i***t tea baggers who are doing their damndest to d**g our country into the third world and 19th century.

Please use the comments to demonstrate your own ignorance, unfamiliarity with empirical data and lack of respect for scientific knowledge. Be sure to create straw men and argue against things I have neither said nor implied. If you could repeat previously discredited memes or steer the conversation into irrelevant, off topic discussions, it would be appreciated. Lastly, kindly forgo all civility in your discourse . . . you are, after all, anonymous.

I see that this is your signature saying. You certainly practice it.

The Democrats were the party of the poor and ordinary people. In the early 1970's when the business decided they had had enough and declared war on liberalism and the FDR New Deal coalition. Through their business organizations and the Republican party they began hatching plans to take the country back for business. Political donations increased substantially with most of it going to the Republicans party. That's when the New Deal coalition collapsed and the Democrats began pursuing their share of the business pie. The party soon abandoned working people and by 2000 they got the biggest share of the Tsunami of Corporate cash that was pouring into politics. The Democrat party no longer had to worry about labor they had labor's v**es and cash because labor had no other choice
