Denzel is at the top of my list not only as an actor but as a great example. He is a great example of what anyone, black or white can do if they truly want to.
No doubt he has talent but so does everyone. One just has to take the time and effort to discover their talent and use it for good.

Not that I noticed he was Black at all, really I didn't, but if I did, just happened to unconsciously fall prey to such thinking, you know, that we were different colors, not that it matters and I have friends that are Black, yet when I stupidly said "He is a great example of what anyone, black or white, can do if they truly want to" I felt deep shame. But why was not clear.

Your "felt" shame no doubt came from the subconscious truth of your racism. Anyone trying to make an issue of a normal innocent statement like black or white is either trying to make trouble or is a latent bigot.
I also like the famous statement "I have friends that are black." As if we all don't :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :shock: :shock: :shock:
