My 52 year old (registered republiian ) roommate is going to sign up for SSDisability (claiming a "bad back" a "work related injury".....which is a blatant LIE!!) because he "H**ES TO WORK" and is totally irresponsible with money! He is 3 months behind in his rent and steals constantly from the other roommates! Our utilities are included in the "rent"...and so he abuses them too.....(Running the AC with the window wide open....leaving lights on all night....running the dryer for one pair of jeans until he is ready to put them on (HOURS!) etc. Running the shower for 30 minutes before he gets in and showers for another 30 minutes (or doing SOMETHING in there!)
i'm a conservative.....he says his back hurts, but he is breaking ours! He considers himself quite the "dancer"...when my back hurt.....i moved VERY CAREFULLY....I sure couldn't preform the antics he does!) And SO ARROGANT!! A liar and a thief. I have NO idea why he registered as a Republican.
BTW.....he's white!

Course......I know that he is not only one doing this but I'm seeing more and more republicans doing this these days. It's WELFARE! They are going to collapse the fiancee of this country..AND THEN WHAT??........R**TS?

This is none of my business other than I pay taxes and people like this drive me crazy. What you need to do is install a camera and catch him in his dance moves, lifting objects that should hurt, walking at a brisk rate and send a copy after he get his SSI approved to his case worker. You can do this anonymously, just type a note to tell the person that the tape pertains to.... and give the name. Then in that note, ask them to investigate. See how long his showers will be when he is in jail. Also, if I were you, I would record and tape when he goes in for showers and keep a log book. I would also film the AC issue. Turn it in to your landlord. Next take him to small claims court and sue him for what he owes you and your room mates for the time you have to cover his portion of the rent. Bottom line, gather evidence and show him that being a thief is not something you will condone.

You know, being dishonest knows no boundaries. Hey, look at Congress, doesn't matter 'which' party. Turn him in. You and others are enabling him. You know he is living a lie AND, as his roommates, you all are allowing him (it sounds like) to l***h off all of you as well. As a result of turning him in, he will, I suspect, end up doing some 'penance' in jail and hopefully you can find a roommate, a contributing roommate to replace him with.

Most likely with minimum wage jobs and the cost of rents it's necessary for people to pool their monies just to live. Thinking way back it was quite common for generations of a family to live under one roof.

I live in a multigenerational home. I share with a cousin and his wife, two aunts that can not live alone and of course my daughter. I like the company. There is always someone fussing about something. And dinner conversations are hard to hold when you live alone. Just my opinion. I can think of a dozen reasons to share a home. Applying for disability doesn't guarantee that one will be approved. In fact, most are denied at least twice, on average. Even if disability is approved, there is a fraud hot line that one may call, when one believes that someone is receiving benefits illegally.

Calling the hot line doesn't guarantee that action will be taken immediately. The anti fraud staff are underfunded and under staffed, but persistence pays off. In other words, keep on their ass until they investigate. If more citizens would take action and be persistent, there would be fewer incidents. Unfortunately, this takes work, a lot of work and even responsible citizens don't want to take the time and put in the effort - to do what they believe the Government should be doing on it's own. That's certainly a valid complaint, to be sure, but it is an inoperative one.

There are far more responsibilities to being a citizen - than just paying taxes and expecting everything to go as planned. There is the "should be" fantasy and then the "it is" reality. Reality sucks, but must be dealt with on IT"S terms, not ours.

There many homes like your home but those numbers have fallen since the 50/60's for Americans. Other races that live here still have two or three generations under one roof. I see tons moving back home whether divorce or wh**ever and I believe it will continue.

Interesting you should ask......and really NOT your business since I'm paying the rent......but let me explain!
I sold my home. The people needed to move in ASAP. SO....I sold all my furniture and earthly possessions and took a "room" in a house that rents out the rooms and we all share the kitchen and common area's. I did this because I work full time.....(yes, even at my age)....and my job isn't finished yet.
