Ethan Berkowitz surged to a decisive win over opponent Amy Demboski in the Anchorage mayoral runoff e******n Tuesday night.
With 98 percent of the v**e counted, Berkowitz had more than 59 percent of the v**e to Demboski’s 41 percent, a margin that was insurmountable. Berkowitz had held a commanding lead over Demboski throughout the evening. As of 11 p.m., 122 of the municipality’s 124 precincts had reported.
The Republican candidate, Amy Demboski, had big Koch money backing as well as the backing of several local and state evangelical preachers. Anchorage v**ers soundly rejected Demboski and her radical rightwingnutcase agenda in favor of Berkowitz and his moderate Democratic agenda.

In this case the money was with the Democrat, who was supported by lots of outside interests. The media was bought and paid for, the local newspaper (yes we still have those up here) is a left wing rag (used to be a great paper but has seen better times) spent a lot of time attacking Amy, who is a conservative.

Many Republican neighborhoods v**ed for the Democrat, go figure.

If the quote above is accurate you can see that Amy had no chance from the start, because of the bias of the media.

I don't know about Koch money, Amy had less than a third of the war chest that Ethan Berkowicz had, yet there is nothing said about the source of his money, which was mainly out of state funded. Maybe Soros?

The economy is not doing well because of Democrat actions in the fields of health care (they just v**ed to extend the Medicaid mandate) and jobs (very union loving, about to introduce an income tax, high spending, the lot in the face of low oil prices, EPA shutdowns of drilling, little development etc, all driven by Democrat insanity). We need some fiscal responsibility and now the city is about to blow the budget along with the State I don't see much future here.

When the money is all gone, who will pay the union retirement? Who will pay for the schools? More important, how will I pay my property taxes?

To me it is a sign of the lowering of the average intelligence and I cry for my city and my state.
