She Wolf on faith

She Wolf wrote this and I am compelled to copy her words into this topic.

"I practice the religion of my ancestors. It is the only one I can relate to. We do not actively seek members and are very selective as to whom we will accept. It requires a great deal of study of our faith as well a great deal of study into other faiths. We feel taking oaths is a very serious matter. If you are not sure, do not join.

Our faith is Animistic in nature. It is based upon what we call the nine noble virtues:

Courage
Truth
Honor
Troth
Self Discipline
Hospitality
Industriousness
Self-reliance
Perseverance

Do I live up to these? Not always, I'm human and I make mistakes. The above are only a small part of our belief system. They are our 9 Commandments if you will. I believe in my God and I respect all faiths.

Every day starts with and ends with prayer for guidance. My God is a loving God. I don't believe in heaven or hell. I don't believe in a devil. Man is the perpetrator of evil, we don't need supernatural forces. We do a good job all on our own. I believe you do the right thing because it is the right thing. No rewards in this life or the next.

It is a very complex religion. I could go on but I've probably bored you enough already."

The devil lives still, and is the accuser of the brethren. When you don't study the Bible you don't have faith to protect yourself, just like a passage in the Bible about the evil spirit that returned with more of his kind because the house was swept and clean meaning "No Christ, No peace" - "Know Christ, know peace". In Ecclesiastes 12:6-7 when the silver cord is liberated from the clay pot ( human body)the soul goes up to God, in 2 Corinthians 5:6-8 to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, that's mandatory because God owns your soul. We were created to be with Him in Eternity, but the devil has a lake of fire and the unbelievers will go with him to Hell.

I have many easy and quick dismissals of your faith but it is novel to my experience and of course it seems strange...and wrong.

Perhaps it seems strange and wrong because you have not dug into my beliefs. But, this topic was not about my faith, but rather a poste that She Wolf had made and I copied it into this area.

What you mentioned brings to mind what a dear friend of mine always used to say...if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. It was quite rude of you to come off in your usual arrogant and combative manner to a person that was honestly sharing their heart-felt beliefs. You may not agree with them but you don't have to be an asshole about it.

I think she was trying to poke me with her stick. She also commented on the Psalms 31 that I posted, and her words were sharp then too.

When I read what She Wolf wrote, I thought that it is a truly decent and loving. The list, well how could anyone find anything wrong or off?

Courage
Truth
Honor
Troth
Self Discipline
Hospitality
Industriousness
Self-reliance
Perseverance

Sounds to me like the list all of us should try to live up to.

Honesty is rude? Curious. And I am admitting that I am ignorant and unqualified to address this faith. How did you read something different?

The below are open to wide interpretation. One cannot just state these as "values." I am looking forward to definitions from She Wolf that can be properly addressed.

Courage
Truth
Honor
Troth
Self Discipline
Hospitality
Industriousness
Self-reliance
Perseverance

Your choice of words doesn't leave something to be desired.

"Doesn't leave something to be desired"? Hmm, so it had the desired effect? It is complete and nothing can be added or subtracted? Or you misspoke?

I am so sorry it took so long for me to answer. I had trouble logging on to this site. I hope this answers your questions.

Courage: exhibit courage in all forms, esp. standing up for what you believe to be right regardless of obstacles and opposition.

Truth: be honest with all people even yourself. Never lie even if lying is easier.

Honor: hold true to your word. Keep all promises, act on your convictions.

Troth: loyalty. be true to your God, yourself, your family, and your friends,

Self discipline: Rule your actions by the strength of your convictions.

Hospitality: Always be generous with your God, your family and your friends. Share your gifts, your protection, your loyalty, and your possessions.

Industriousness: Work with dedication and commitment. Don't be halfhearted in your efforts.

Self Reliance: Trust in yourself and your own resources. Rely upon others as rarely as you can.

Perseverance: Be stubborn. Don't give up until you have accomplished what you set out to do and have accomplished it well.

Do I always live up to these noble virtues? Of course not, I am human. I do try. These have served me well. They are placed through out my home and office. Just to remind me of who I should be.

I am so sorry I am so late responding. I have computer gremlins.

The treatments went great. I only wish this were available in the U.S. It is risky but it is life changing. It breaks my hear to think of all the MS patients in this country who could benefit. Not everyone gets accepted into the trials in Germany. I was just lucky to have the Aunts.

My Aunts have quite a bit of political clout in Germany. The best description I can give of these elderly ladies is:

If you crossed a rabid mountain lion with a pit bull, it would run from the Aunts when they are on a mission.
