Hello everyone. Stumbling across this site may prove to be interesting. I always considered myself a Republican, but nowadays I also support the tea party. Sad to say but when I was a single mother working full-time, much of which included significant windshield time across all of rural Nevada, I wasn't always clued into what was happening. I then had the opportunity to live for several years in Papua, Indonesia. Talk about a learning experience. Being an ex-pat wife meant I couldn't work. (They know enough to protect jobs for themselves) I spent much of my time following news from around the world. Not only that, after 30 years, I finished the last classes I needed for my degree, with my research paper being on Islam (Indo being a great venue for that endeavor). Holy Cow! Pun(?) intended. What I ultimately (finally) learned is that our Country, way of life, and culture are being attacked from every direction and I'm scared. I look forward to participating and continuing to learn as I go.

You may have "stumbled in", but hopefully you will stay for awhile. Yes, our country has slid down into an abyss that only determination, guts, sweat, and prayers can get us out of. If we manage to save it now, heaven help us if we don't make some real changes so that this can never again happen. Our government has been usurped, and it may not be something new, but Obama seems to have brought out the very worst "officials" he could find to appoint, and the Republican Party was too gutless to vet him OR his appointees. (I was Republican from 1961 until 2010, at which time I had had enough of them, and switched to Libertarian Party.....am also am a member of the TEA Party, though it isn't truly a formal political party.) I think the 2 Party system has destroyed us.
