R****m Is Real: The Real Reason Behind Baltimore Uprising

The death of Freddie Gray at the hands of Baltimore police sparked outrage and protests by thousands of Baltimore residents and people of color around the world. It seems that almost daily, the headline "Unarmed Black Man K**led By Police" has pulled back the veil on what many w***e A******ns, liberal and conservative alike, have been blinded to by privilege: r****m is real in American society. Our new film, which we have shared here, highlights it.
With the 2008 e******n of Barack Obama, the success of entrepreneurs like Oprah and Tyler Perry, and the increase in African Americans attendance in college, about half of w***e A******n's have wrongly concluded that the US has entered a "post-racial" phase, where race is no longer the determining factor in ine******y. ​(It could have happened but for race baiters like the authors of this piece. Where I live for the most part the two races get along very well. Why because most of them grew up together generation after generation. Does a racial problem come up from time to time, yes, but things usually get worked out before trouble starts. Both sides here want racial harmony.)​
This couldn't be further from the t***h.​ (Funny, it seems to be mostly the big blue cities in the very blue states that have been run by l*****t for last 50-60 years that have most of the problems. Take Baltimore, I believe I saw stats saying it is around 65% black, with a Black female Mayor, who is obviously in way over her head, a mostly black city council with a few minority liberals mixed in, a black police chief, with a little over half of the police officers being black, and maybe even a black fire chief. Take all of that and then look at the long term political ideology of the local politicians and administrators, which is l*****t Marxist/democrat of one persuasion or another, I wonder do I see a problem there. Probably the only honest public servants are the city's fire and police forces and maybe, just maybe the garbage men.) ​
The crux of much debate surrounding the death of Freddie Gray and the subsequent civil unrest by both moderate and conservative media and pundits lay the blame squarely on the backs of the protestors and victims of such assaults. They contend that these deaths and protests are a result of those u​T​
nwilling to take responsibility for their actions.​ ​
That criminal activity and arrests are a result of poor choices and poor moral character. That, in this post racial society, everyone has equal ability to change their circumstances if only they try hard enough.​ ( I came up the hard way and have worked all my life to improve my circumstances. I have managed to move from poverty to maybe a middle class retirement. There were lots of challenges, set backs, bad choices, but through it all I was able to move up.)​
What happens when we try to qualify those beliefs?
Well, we find that b****s and w****s use marijuana at similar rates, but b****s are four times more likely to get arrested for it, and six times more likely to go to prison. This certainly proves that arrest has a whole lot more to do with what you look like than the actual crime.​ (It proves nothing, inner city black youths commit 90% of the crime in most cities and as a result their neighborhoods have a much larger police presence which accounts for the difference in arrest rates. More cops, more arrests. I am not sure of the prison stats used in this article, but if more b****s are arrested and convicted because of a heavier police presence in crime infested neighborhoods, then more of them will be going to jail. White intensive neighborhoods with less crime and less police presence naturally produce less arrest and convictions. I think that explains some of the differences. I know some will take issue with my conjecture here.)​
Or what about when we compare resumes, and find that identical resumes sent to the same employer have a 50 percent less chance of being called if they have a "black sounding" name. This certainly demonstrates unequal ability to change your circumstances.​ (I think most businesses are by their nature conservative and are unwilling to gamble on someone's made up strangely pronounced and spelled name. What all of us no matter what race need to realize first impressions will make you or break you. And sometimes that is unfair. And one needs to overdress if one is lucky enough to get an interview. And for God's sake speak the Queens english and enunciate your words. Businesses don't care who you are as long as you can show the capability to service their customers.)
Want to complain about all of this to your local Congressperson? Good luck. People with black sounding names consistently see less responses from their representatives -- in both parties. So much for taking responsibility! ​ (I feel extremely lucky to get a form letter back from most of them. I don't think that's a racial thing, I think they just don't care.)​
The t***h is, Jim Crow grew up, cleaned up, and started writing laws. Laws that create institutionalized r****m without having to have a sign that reads "w****s only." Our current policies and criminal justice system do that implicitly. ​(I would like to see examples proving the veracity of the last two sentences.) ​To get a real handle on what is going on in Baltimore, Ferguson and around the nation; to understand why people feel stuck, angry, and frustrated, we have to be willing to face the fact that r****m has not disappeared. It has instead morphed into less conspicuous white privilege and social and economic ine******y. One that many American w****s are unwilling to face out of guilt and the belief that they have somehow "earned" a position in life that they have, in fact, inherited by virtue of simply being white. ​(This whole paragraph is nothing but Marxist/democrat l*****t talking points which should be called whining points instead. I feel this whole article is Bull S**t c*******t propaganda.) ​At Brave New Films, we have produced a short film entitled R****m is Real that can be seen here. It highlights institutionalized r****m in America. It is by no means exhaustive. But it is a start. If America wants to hold onto the belief that what we inherit is unabashedly what we deserve, then we must be willing to acknowledge that we force minorities to inherit ine******y at no fault of their own.

Somebody got an "A" in African Studies 101.
To claim that all/most white people benefit from "white privilege" is as r****t as someone that claims all b****s are criminals/dopeheads/welfare queens.
This ass clown has been indoctrinated (like a great percentage of b****s) with the notion that all white people and ONLY white people are r****ts. Proving none of it, but showing his own r****t/bigoted prejudices.
No one with even half a brain is buying any of this drivel unless they already have a preconceived notion of such. Unfortunately, there are a lot of those people out there. They ignore facts that don't support their already preconceived outcome. Ex: Ferguson..."Hands up, Don't shoot". They're simpletons that have to have some catch phrase to rally around instead of the facts. They wouldn't know the t***h if the t***h hit 'em in the face with his nutsack!!!
I, indeed, am white. No shame in my game. No white guilt. In fact, I believe in white guilt like I do leprechauns.
We were poor when I was a kid. I earned scholarships and worked my way through college. Nothing came easy for me. Bought all of my own vehicles, including my first car. I was taught discipline and work ethic and it paid off.
As for two applicants black v white and which one gets the job, all things being equal?...B****S in my experience. Happened to me a lot. I worked in the telecom industry during the 90's and early 2000's. Phone company was full of b****s...mostly black women...who were woefully incompetent. I had a hard time getting a job during one stretch after being laid off for a while. I took a gamble and marked on an application (to a major phone company) my race as being "BLACK". Guess what? I got hired!!
I'd forgotten about doing that, but years later when I got promoted to a higher management position, I was looking over my personnel papers and saw that they indeed had me listed as "black". It was then that it dawned on me that that was why I got hired at this phone company. I never laughed so hard in my life. I, yes I, Mr. Whitebread Cracka-Ass-Cracka was not the benefit of WHITE PRIVELEGE, but ironically, the benefit of AFFIRMITIVE ACTION. HA!!! One of my greatest memories. I'm laughing my ass off right now just thinking about it!!

LOL... that is a great twist.. the irony is classic.
I too have experienced some "r****m" over the past couple decades due to my being "white". I have a very Anglo name, but when pronounced can sound asian. Living in beautiful Hawaii, being haole (technically it means "stranger", but is usually used for us whiteys) is a strike against you, but you would chuckle at the number of times I have been told by a new client that they called me and thought I was Chinese! If it works, who's complaining!
The problem too many times is that the "victims" of r****m are merely finding it a handy excuse when they don't measure up or get held to responsibility. I have seen employees whose work product was sub-standard (and had been warned) claim r****m when they had to be let go. Part of it is human nature... white individuals who faced the same result would find some other disability or unrelated factor to blame as the reason we terminated them.
Read about a recent study that had some interesting results... wish I could find the article to post. In it, the State of New Jersey was sued because a particular stretch of the highway showed that B****s were ticketed far more often than W****s; and in a greater % than their population was to the community. They won and the State was forced to pay big bucks. However, another group was suspicious of the results of the study conducted and did their own. What they were able to conclude based on substantial documented observation was that along that stretch, B****s were more likely to be speeding than other racial groups. In fact, the incident of actual law breaking was consistent with the % of tickets issued.
