I was 19 i had a 400hp 64 chevy 2. 4 on the floor and buddy that sucker could run. I got in tons of trouble with it they sent my 6'7 uncle who at the time was a 2nd class boatswain. Needless to say he persuaded me to join any branch of service. I did and he showed up at my boot grad in his blues. Point being, i was raised to love America and be proud hence military service runs generations deep

I had a 37 Ford sedan with a built 283 4 speed 411 positrac and ladder bars that connected under the front door hinges. I had an 11 inch clutch and would rev it to about 6000 dump the clutch and pop a wheelie never could get it to burn out it just wheelied and took off like a gun. I went into the service because I was tired of laying irrigation pipe and cutting firewood. I don't regret it. I never made more money for less work in my life. There was lots of food and all the milk I could drink. I went in pretty small got out taller heavier and muscular. Thank you Uncle Sam.

I had a 62 passenger limo, called a city bus. Two months after my 17th birthday, I joined the Air Force. I did my four years and came out with two vocations that I used in civilian life.

Loving America takes many different forms, one not any greater than another. Protesting war is just as American as fighting in a war. Obeying the law, v****g, jury duty, and practicing e******y within a community is equally loving America. Thank you for your and your uncle's service but that service is no greater or lesser than waiting on lines far too long (ten hours) to v**e.

I can't imagine waiting in line for hours to v**e. I always have lived in small towns. About 15 years ago Oregon went to the mail in b****t system and we have a very high v**er turn out. Our new governor now has made it automatic registration so every elgible v**er is automaticly registered. Every state should follow the model we have here. Every body has the right to v**e but not every body has the opportunity. I have seen it on the news where lines are long in poor precincts but on the fast track in affluent ones. When not even your birth certificate is the "proper" ID in some states you know some one is trying hard to take your right to v**e away. I would not live in a state like that and if that kind of bulloney comes to Oregon expect the second amendment to kick in and be in full force. That is patriotism.
