Hmmm...how to word this? DRIVEL yet again brought to the country by ...please save my soul, the University of California. Janet is going to fit right in.

Rumitoid, you have been listening to Charlie Rangel again. Not your best decision.

Are you so TOTALLY uninformed that you and your fellow travelers are unaware that the SNAP Program is fully funded through 2013 and probably 2014? Are you so TOTALLY uninformed you do not understand the SNAP Program is not being done away with but rewritten as a separate stand alone program not related to other legislation?

Could you please actually learn to read or listen to something other then tripe?

Lol, AuntiE, Christianity is drivel? You did not address a single point, just made ad hominem comments. This is not like you and I expected better. If you wish to call this drivel, show me. I am not beyond sound argument. Calling me names or making me out to be an un-thinking dolt is unbecoming.

I have been calling my family worse for two days. Be glad I only insinuated you were a dolt. :!: :!: :!: I am VERY VERY VERY VERY CRANKY!

Christianity is NOT drivel. I do question anybody whose theology studies came from University of California. I mean REALLY ...California!

I will take time when my mood is more settled to reread the article.

I will tell you yet again your premise that SNAP is going away is WITHOUT any merit.

I don't think that Americans are against helping people down on their luck as I am sure if we ourselves have never been down on our luck we at least know someone who has. Either through loss of job, businesses shutting their doors, or maybe one owns business closing. Americans as a whole are the most generous of all nations and people. I think where the rub comes in hear is in the fourth and fifth generation of these families not showing any inclination whatsoever of ever getting off of the public dole but making a lifestyle out of it. Also quite a number of these people are selling drugs and doing prostitution on the side making "free money" for their fancy cars with loud speakers their big flat screen TV's etc. These are the group in my town where the mother thinks she is cooking by driving to McDonalds and back. Again if these people were getting off of welfare and getting back to work, no problem, fourth and fifth generation on welfare, problem. We aren't correcting a problem we are compounding the problem.

I wish "the big-one" would hurry up and go to work on the bay area. Just enough for it to fall in the ocean, that's all it needs to do.

-sighs-

Anyway self sufficiency has been eroded from the mentality of people of my generation and the upcoming generation of total i***ts.

I weep for the species and damn the inheritance of its manipulators.

Not too many people are unwilling to "help" people in need. The word "help" assumes that the person being "helped" is also doing something in kind o advance a goal. People that are not doing something along with those trying to "help" are not looking for "help" but looking for a "hand-out".

I had one serious thought when I read the introductory lines in that one. I have always wondered why the Food Stamp program had to be a part of the Farm Bill to such an extent that it was up to 80% of the cost of the bill. Isn't there some other way to provide that food from a bill about food stamps, only. I never managed to see many people talking about it as part of the Farm Bill that so many have been against and most of those who have been against Farm bills have been leaners who are part of why SNAP had become 80% of the cost of farm bills.

Can you answer any of my questions about this topic?

There are certainly two sides to any story. I have seen too much of that stuff from my Congressman who was removed from the Agriculture Committee when he tried to get people to go along with removing Boehner from the Speaker's chair. He has never stopped reporting those things though, but then we are more than just a little unhappy at Boehner for that trick.

Personally I don't like any government social programs. It's a terrible waste of taxpayer monies that could be used in better places. Mostly you get zero return on the dollar for social programs. Social welfare is best served in the private sector where there are many good organizations that provide assistance in the time of need. Most Americans are very generous and do provide for those in need!

Why do people who are pushing liberal agendas always quote the bible out of context? Jesus never advocates laziness. In the parable of the talents, he berates the man given one talent and hides it in the sand. Not only that but he takes it away and gives it to the productive man who has ten talents.

Liberals tend to do this about every subject they talk about. They cherry pick and change to make things look as they want them to look.
