Key word, Optimism! I think when things were off the cliff. Middle-income earners are only slightly more optimistic than they were last year. Slightly, not meaning things are out of the woods but SLIGHTLY better.

It's been a great six years offering everyone the chance to rebuild from the "almost depression." With luck, it will continue for a while longer although economies go through cycles. It would not surprise me to see a slight recession in the next two years or so.

I think it is great that some people feel that the future finally looks brighter.
Really, I don't find that polls are necessarily reflective of reality.
I have been known to say they aren't worth a five pound bag.

Compared to the fall of 1008 when the investment banks were going down the tubes ,750,000 jobs were going down the same tube and the nation was staring into an abyss not knowing where the bottom was with the possibility for a great depression far greater than the 1930's things are much better.
