Just as a holy day begins for observant Jews, to sit in a Temple and repent for sins, sins of the World, and today is a day when survivors of the Extemination Camps, the few who are still living, gather together. Their are young people who attend. The N**is' murdered more than 6 million Jews - all Gay people, the Rom people (known as "Gypsies" - I am part Rom - my mother's father was a Hungarian Rom, and the Roms do not like the word Gypsy - that is where the horrid pejorative: to gyp someone, or to complain that one way "gypped"), and, I would appreciate it if no one started using that word. It is pretty reprehensible. When I travelled through Germany, people on the street would shout at me, "Gypsy" in German. I needed to leave Germany as soon as possible. We were traveling with a blond, blue-eyed Jewish friend of my brother's from Cal Berkeley, and not a peep about him. I had two particularly horrific experiences, both in different youth hostels, and I will not write about them publically.

This is to Mitt. Thank you. DanceTherapist. Yes, it is interesting, and to the point. I think many people don't realize how many people Hitler k**led. And who they were. The pink triangle for Gays. Brown for the Rom. And, of course, the Star of David. His "Arryian" persuits. From India - from a cult of theosophophists, he came. It is an interesting read on Google. Big smiles, Mitt.

No, I do not speak German, but I knew the word, as you cited. I could understand enough German (my father spoke German), and I certainly was uncomfortable with these events. I'm certain you know that even in the 1960's - I was very young - there were N**i Youth, although it had been outlawed. They were pretending to be "Boy Scouts". We stopped at a beautiful pass on the Autobahn - looked down and saw these young blond boys doing the duck step, with the N**i Swastika on their jackets.

Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day, set aside for the world to never forget the 6 million Jews who were slaughtered by the N**is. Could the holocaust be repeated? I'm afraid so. Anti-Semitism is at the highest levels since the late 1930’s. This is coming from the influx of Muslim immigrants to Europe, the United States, and other Western countries over the past few decades, and they are bringing their hatred of Jews--and Christians--with them. This is a poison. Muslims have been on TV in Europe spouting “Hitler should have finished the job!” Have we learned anything from history?

The Rom or Romani people are so very interesting and did you hear that in the past few decades with DNA testing they finally traced the origin to India? That is amazing. Apparently, the Romani came to Europe from India during the Middle Ages. Some say as paid mercenaries to help in disputes.

It is sad but true, they are stereotyped and there is much hostility toward the beautiful Romani culture.
