In the past months we have witnessed some horrific videos, shootings, beatings, and all manner of police brutality. We are saturated with the police officers doing the wrong thing.... to the point that they are now titled as "Scum bag", "Brutes", and as some posters have said...."time for open season on cops."

Here are a few articles that you may have missed.

Police officer in upstate New York is credited with a toddler's dramatic rescue, thanks to his rapid response.

Sgt. Patrick Hildenbrand, 35, of the Red Hook, N.Y., Police Department, thought he was going to pull over a speeding driver. Instead the officer encountered a frantic father carrying the lifeless body of his 22-month-old son.

After Matthew Morgan suffered a seizure and collapsed on Monday, his father, Matt, grabbed his body to drive him to the nearest hospital, ABC station WABC-TV reported. The elder Morgan was speeding through the Dutchess County Village of Red Hook, when he and Hildenbrand spotted each other.

Florida police helped a child with autism celebrate his birthday recently after no one showed up to his party, Twis Lizasuain, a spokeswoman for the Osceola County Sheriff's Office, told USA TODAY Network.

The officers raised money to buy the child gifts, dropped by his home with K-9 and motorcycle units and even coordinated a helicopter fly-over, she said.

"They wanted to put a smile on the boy's face," Lizasuain said.

Germantown, WI — An incredible story from Friday morning starts out with a black lab named John Boy, approaching a police officer.

Germantown police officer, Jeff Gonzalez deserves credit for not only refusing to do what so many other cops do when dogs approach them, but actually getting out in the freezing weather to see why this dog was loose.

“He stood there and barked a little bit, then I rolled down my window and called to him. Then he wagged his tail and got more friendly until I got out of my car. And then he ran a little bit,” said Gonzalez.

John Boy was seemingly trying to get the officer’s attention in an effort to help his owner.

“Yeah, he sure did. He pointed me in the right direction,” said Gonzalez.

John Boy led the officer up the street to a house where his owner, Krystal, was unresponsive. Krystal, who suffers from a heart condition, was slumped over in a chair outside her front door, still in her pajamas. It was dangerously cold out.

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) - Tampa police officers made a horrific discovery when responding to shots fired in the Sulphur Springs area Wednesday night: a young dog shot multiple times and tied to railroad tracks.

Police responded to the area after three calls came in around 5:23 p.m. Just north of Eskimo Drive, Officer Gina Murphy found a 1- or 2-year-old mixed breed dog that had been shot twice in the neck and above the right shoulder and tied to railroad tracks with a belt, but was alive.

Officers Nick Wilson and Sgt. R. Mills freed the dog from the tracks and rushed her to the Tampa Bay Veterinary Emergency Service. Tampa police have named the sweet dog "Cabela."

NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH)– Norwalk police officer Neil Robertson was caught on camera saving a woman from being hit by an oncoming train on Tuesday.

Police say an accident on I-95 backed up traffic onto Cross Street, causing total gridlock, and Robertson was in the area.

“The thought crossed my mind that ‘wow, if there was a train it would be impossible to get all these cars off the tracks,'” said Robertson.

KENNEBUNK, Maine – When a police officer pulled a man over for speeding, he did not expect to save the driver’s life.

“I saw the cruiser on the side of the road and I said, ‘Oh, too late. No sense in slowing down now, he’s already nailed me,” said Scotty Falconer.

When Officer Matthew Harrington pulled Falconer’s car over, he was prepared to write the driver a warning and send him on his way.

“Went back to my car, started to run checks, write out a warning card, at which time I heard screaming,” said Harrington.

And for the few videos that have made the rounds on OPP... not one has posed even one of the above. And ladies, gentlemen, and those in between.... should we condemn all our police because you and the media ignore the good that the vast majority of our police officers do?

NO, we should condemn NO ONE, NO ONE, except when proven guilty. We can suspect, and we can speculate, but the media is not in place to suspect and speculate. It is with us to REPORT THE NEWS. I will trust and believe almost ANYONE more than I will trust and believe today's media. At one time I actually BELIEVED the media. Nowadays it seems they all have agendas, and most of the agendas appear to be to keep the population in a state of agitation, and I, for one, believe that is a deliberate agenda to offset their REAL agenda, which I believe is a danger to us and our nation.

Frankly, I would love to see every cop in the country get the "blue flu" at the same time for about 2 weeks. Then perhaps the media and the cop critics (political left) could do a more thorough assessment of the value of them. Frankly, were I a cop, I'd quit the force today and go into another line of work. After all, everyone in the media and practically everywhere, EVERYONE knows better than the cop what he should have done, though NONE OF US HAS WALKED IN HIS SHOES, ergo, they are capable of protecting themselves, or SHOULD be, based on their vast knowledge and bravery. When you have a low paying job, work odd and horrible hours, take guff off practically everyone you run into every day of the week, and when your life is at risk every time you show you face, then must take the guff the media spews out, WHY DO YOU DO YOU STICK WITH IT? I wouldn't. I would LOVE to see the media handle it for a solid week without a single cop on duty.

My hat is off to your family members. My hubby of 43 years spent 30 years in law enforcement. I worried like everything when he would be quite late getting home.............never knew if he was safe or not. I never knew him to shoot anyone even though he did come home more than once with a cut here or there and damaged shirt once or twice.

We have a nephew who is a detective for the Amarillo P.D. And another nephew in high school who elected to go to the Sheriffs Dept. academy instead of playing sports. He has been accepted into anther academy for next fall. After he takes the required college courses, he plans on going into law enforcement.
