HILLARY’S LAUNCH DATE: WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?

The cover of this week’s edition of The Economist asks “What does Hillary stand for?”

If you don’t know by now, folks, you haven’t been paying attention.

Presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton stands for winning, wh**ever the cost.

She has paid dearly over the past 40 years, and is now closer than ever to the ultimate goal.

But if she is to be undone – yet again – in her quest for power it will be her desire itself that does her in.

There is an ocean's worth of leaks pointing to this weekend as when the former first lady will make her candidacy a formal, legal fact.

Saturday or Sunday?

Twitter or Youtube?

Iowa first or someplace else?

Bubba or Baby Charlotte?

The correct answer to these questions is: Wh**evs.

The only question that would have been helpful to Clinton – Will she or won't she? – was never seriously in consideration.

And in that, she has had a damaging failure.

[Whoo-hoo! “We just wanted to get this thing over with and get on with it.” – a Clinton campaign aide talking to Politico.]

The presidency is like a bank loan or a first date:

It’s much harder to get if it seems like you really need it.

And compared to Clinton’s decades-long pursuit of power, Mitt Romney looks like a slacker.

From the day she left the White House in 2001, she has been trying to get back in.

But Clinton missed a chance over the past year to give Americans cause to think she might not really run.

One could argue that the fault is not her own, since she has been forced to alter her schedule and modify her message in order to quell concerns from Democrats and deal directly with double-duty scandals.

The time in which it would have been helpful for the former secretary of state to have been seen as actually undecided about running was consumed in recovering first from a dreadful book launch and then the stories of her family foundation’s sketchy dealings and then, worst of all, the secret servers.

[A tangled web - WashEx combs through several potential conflicts of interest surrounding Clinton to produce a very impressive and useful interactive graphic.]

But the fault ultimately lies with the candidate.

The problem with the book launch was Clinton’s refusal to back down about being “dead broke” and the double-barreled scandals were the consequences of her own ethical lapses.

But let’s be plain:

The real reason Hillary couldn’t appear to be in doubt another run is that we have come to know her too well over the years.

It’s true that Americans instinctively mistrust anyone too hungry for power, but it’s not like Clinton could just reinvent herself (though not for lack of trying).

Instead, Clinton’s efforts to appear undecided sounded pardic.

[“Any day now, Hillary Clinton is expected to declare that she is running for president. For most Americans this will be as surprising as the news that Cinco de Mayo will once again be on May 5th.”–The Economist.]

RNC launches Stop Hillary campaign - Hoping v**ers will slam the brakes on Hillary Clinton, the Republican National Committee released an ad today titled “Stop Hillary.”

The video shows a silhouetted Hillary figure walking out on stage to a podium with voiceover snippets including, “Hillary Clinton has some explaining to do.”

“Used her personal email account to conduct official business” “Wanted to reset relations with Russia.”

“Not really working out well.”

“Potentially catastrophic move for Hillary Clinton.”

“Taking millions of dollars from foreign governments.”

“Sniper fire, it was a total crock, it was a lie,” and Clinton’s own:

“What difference at this point does it make.”

“This is just par for the course for the Clintons, they’re always a bit secretive,” the ad concludes.

The lead in to the opinion piece is just plain goofy. Get out into the real world.
Do you honestly see people hating each other? I see people with smiles and absolutely no interest in my political opinion.
I see people who stop and let pedestrians cross the street, I see people who are getting together to gather and then distribute food to those living in poverty. I see people thankful for every bit of help they receive to feed their children and get a small toy for those children.
I see people standing out in the cold to collect signatures for petitions and people responding in a positive manner regardless of whether they sign or not.
Does that really sound like h**e to you?
I see people attending fundraisers to help provide services for cancer patients. I see people participating in 5Ks to raise funds for animal shelters.
If you are not seeing those things you are h*****g out in the wrong circles.

As far as a ridiculous proposition that Hillary Clinton will attract The insane, the mentally infirm the C*******t the Islamic jihadist, WHO??? ...do you really think that makes sense?
The complaint from those who object to Sec'y of State/Senator Clinton's front runner status do it on the basis of her connections to Wall Street (that center of C*******t power?), her favor with big oil, her connections to the leaders of other nations.

Now, I plan at this point to v**e for Rand Paul.
If he continues to present as a man who cannot control his temper there is not other person to the right of Clinton I can see myself backing.

Most people do not v**e for a president the v**e against the candidate they feel is the worst choice. Like her or not Hillary Clinton is far from the left wing socialist the nutters have been screaming about, she is a corporate centerest the sort of candidate the middle of America supports. The left will v**e for her reluctantly as their lesser of two evils. If the republicans put up a c*****e c****e denying bible thumping right wing nutter they are screwed. The danger of living in an echo chamber is that you start to believe everyone agrees with you. Right Wing Nutters pay attention, they do not!

He does have a point. In the past I have v**ed for the lesser of two evils.
In the past two e******ns the majority of black people v**ed fro Obama because he is black. this has been reported in the news many times.

I believe it was two days ago Hillary asked a crowd if they wanted a woman for president. And the response was a yes.

Many people have and will v**e for someone like them instead of the issues.

If I didn't mean I see and hear people hating one another I would not have stated such...

The Left H**es the Right!

The Right H**es The Left!

B****s H**e W****s!

W****s H**e B****s!

Liberals H**e Conservatives!

Conservatives H**e Liberals!

Muslims H**es Jews!

Jews H**e Muslims!

And Obama & Hitlary H**e The T***h!!!

That's just about everyone...

The folks you see smiling and doing fundraisers are part of one group or another, most we stick together...

Right after 9/11 our Nation was almost all on the same page, but didn't last long, for politics to work in our society, someone has to be the bad guy, Right or Left...

Now of course this is only my opinion, you could get more accurate numbers if you Googled the question!!! Don D.

Don-unfortunately, there are way too many uninformed v**ers who will v**e for Hillary only because she is both female and a democrat. The fact that, with her track record, she has the audacity to run for the presidency tells us all we need to know. Hillary feels she is owed the presidency and does not give a damn about anyone except herself and her overblown ego. The woman is both dumb and incompetent so she is an ideal democrat candidate. People who would v**e for her are either mentally challenged or totally ignorant. They obviously like the decline America has been experiencing and want more of it. Why would we want another accomplished liar in the Oval Office ? In this country of over 300 million, are we limited to a washed up, wrinkled old woman with a foul mouth as a president ? Do democrats have any shame or loyalty to the country ? This woman is totally unfit for any position of trust, much less the presidency. Wake up democrats you have made this country the laughing stock of the world long enough. Good Luck America !!!
