Several in fact. No q***rs though, but I do have a couple friends who are liberals, but we don't discuss politics though.

I think this video does a pretty good job of cramming in a lot of the beauty of the city I get to call home.

Enjoy!

Well, I can see "now" how much I missed out on, only getting to see it briefly, but unfortunately in dense fog, on a brief stay-over at a cousin's house some time back. She lived outside San Francisco. I, at the time, lived in Hawaii and had stopped to see my cousin on the way to D.C. to visit my parents. I enjoy "quirky"....yeah, what a surprise that is. A lot of cities have pockets of quirky, but not the breathtaking view San Francisco has. D.C. has Adams Morgan, although it has been years since I have been there. Richmond has Careytown....

Now I am wondering what the fourth thing was that wasn't so great! Maybe cost, but my imagination says 'people', which is often the case since the city's culture of diversity allows some kooks to flourish. For me, that's what makes it interesting (though I have to say I am getting tired of influx of young, entitled rich tech kids who lack manners or a commitment to the city's well-being.)

I have never been to San Francisco, but, at least according to several people who used to live there, the "diversity" angle is highly over stated. Yes, there are people of every color, or mix of colors on the planet, and that is fine. There are also every variety of sexual behaviors ever known in the human or animal world on display daily. Every language on the planet is present, which I would have no problem with if most people also knew English, but I gather that is not the case. "Homeless" people, many of whom need medical help for addictions of one sort or another, are encouraged to take up residency on the streets and defecate where ever they choose, an act that we do not even permit from our dogs.Diversity doesn't include anything conservative anywhere, no christian bookstores, few houses of worship that don't have "Gay affirming" signs and rainbow f**gs flying. Plus the city taxes on everything tourists would want to do, like restaurants, entertainment and taxi rides would make it way past my budget. so i will have to look at the photos of San Francisco from years ago and imagine what it once was.

I have never been to San Francisco, but, at least ... (show quote)

There is beauty everywhere. You just have to take the time "to see" with eyes wide open. Of course, that's probably why I don't leave the farm that often. I remember quite clearly the time in my life when I searched constantly, not wanting to miss even one thing of exquisite beauty. Now, I am "mostly" content just to commune with my llamas.

Awesome what you can do when you put your mind to it, isn't it!! Add to that, my cats are SO intelligent. You should see what they are capable of doing on my computer, or should I say "to" my computer. However, in total t***sparency, it is usually the llamas herding the cats, making them do rapid quick steps right on out of the pasture!!! Fortunately for the cats, the llamas were distracted by all the new, tender spring grass popping up for them to nibble on.

Who are the two tiny 'llamas' in the foreground? Are they the llamas protectorates?

The tan one with the black feet and muzzle is stunning looks a lot like one of our neighbor's goats except that the goat has a tan head with black striped on each side like an antelope. Prefer the country beauty rather than the "beauty" of street people sleeping in their own feces.

Why, of course they are, and they take on coyotes as well!!Those two diminutive, demure, brave (but stupid) muted orange "baby" llamas would be Brave Heart (r) and Jelly Bean (l). They refuse to take the hint, but most of the cats here on the farm are the same way, that the llamas aren't normally real happy to see them. There is usually a trail to start with of brave wannabes that follow me out, but the "herd" gets fewer in number the farther I get out into the pasture. Some are wiser than others!! I have to shut in a dainty grey rescue by the name of Valentine before I start out into the pasture to avoid catastrophe because she literally has no common sense whatsoever. She seems to think herself bionic. She has been tapped, but gently (so far), by more than one llama hoof. She lives under the mistaken assumption that fate is always kind, perhaps because I rescued her from the a nearby dumpster.

I have been to 'Frisco numerous times, both for business and pleasure. It is a lovely city with many cultural delights to entertain one. However, I wouldn't want to reside there. Too cold for my old bones.

I know the Bay area well enough to know one doesn't refer (to the locals) to San Francisco as 'Frisco  . They prefer to call it 'The City'. It is a beautiful & wonderful place to visit, but I prefer a more laid-back atmosphere than what you find there. Tony Bennett's song, 'San Francisco' captures it perfectly, IMO. I might add I haven't been in the Bay area at all since 1976. I was there just prior to service in Viet Nam and right afterwards. I won't even begin to explain the culture shock I experienced. I still enjoyed my time there, but, don't look to return.
