Nonsense is nonsense
and it should be exposed as such; often and always. There are few right wing lies quite so annoying as "the N**is were L*****ts/Socialists/C*******ts" lie. The revisionist hooey whores like Jonah Goldberg have made it easier for this orchestrated stupidity to gain new traction with his "Liberal F*****m" screed. The left, as it is quite good at doing lately, has utterly failed to push back against this absurdity in any focused manner, so this too gains acceptance among those who think Obama was born in Kenya, the media is liberal, Canadians are overwhelming the U.S. health care system, and government can't create jobs.
Below I've put down a few good articles you can use to defuse this i***tic argument. It's not hard. I will update it as I have time. If you know of some brief or extended articles I should add here, please pass them along to me via Twitter or in comments below.

The basis of the conflation of n**ism and socialism is the term "National Socialism," a self description of the N**is. "National Socialism" includes the word "socialism", but it is just a word. Hitler and the N**is outlawed socialism, and executed socialists and c*******ts en masse, even before they started rounding up Jews. In 1933, the Dachau concentration camp held socialists and l*****ts exclusively. The N**is arrested more than 11,000 Germans for "illegal socialist activity" in 1936.

The GOP uses deception and fears to try to break the president and his agenda for change. Ultra-right broadcasters even lie about our World War II enemy. Their claims about health care, big business and "socialism" in N**i Germany are not only untrue, but vicious and ignorant

The T***h 1 Nope: a common mistake propagated by people who think that a name means what it says. Take the Democratic Republic of Congo, the German Democratic Republic or the Peoples Democratic Republic of Korea (North Korea). Any takers for claiming them as being democracies?

To most people, Hitler's beliefs belong to the extreme far right. For example, most conservatives believe in patriotism and a strong military; carry these beliefs far enough, and you arrive at Hitler's warring nationalism. This association has long been something of an embarrassment to the far right. To deflect such criticism, conservatives have recently launched a counter-attack, claiming that Hitler was a socialist, and therefore belongs to the political left, not the right.
The primary basis for this claim is that Hitler was a National Socialist. The word "National" evokes the state, and the word "Socialist" openly identifies itself as such.
However, there is no academic controversy over the status of this term: it was a misnomer. Misnomers are quite common in the history of political labels

SPLC has some great articles in their archive that reveal just how many of the more vicious and ignorant N**i myths have been morphed and migrated into American extremist's culture. Often with the tacit approval of many mainstream conservatives and Republicans.
If you just don't have a lot of time, you can use Hitler's own words from Mein Kampf, where the Furhrer clearly illustrates his contempt for the "l*****ts," and had used their colors (not to mention their name) to annoying them:

For the fact this states the left wants to take away freedoms nullifies this...look at what the right does to limit people...what has the left ever done but grant additional rights? From choice to marriage, the left says have at it..the right is the one telling people what they CANNOT DO.....but i'm kool on you righties.....

Not exactly shocking news for those exposed to them for years, but the respected Pew Research Center has determined that political liberals are far less tolerant of opposing views than regular Americans.
In a new study, the Pew Center for the Internet and American Life Project confirmed what most intelligent Americans had long sensed. That is, whenever they are challenged or confronted on the hollow falsity of their orthodoxy such as, say, uniting diverse Americans liberals tend to respond defensively with anger, even trying to shut off or silence critics.

I for one do not believe in national salvation. This country is probably the most diverse in the world. There are members of every Christian church, as well as Muslims, Jews, Hindues, Sikhs, and Buddhists not to mention atheists and agnostics. All of these faiths have different ideas as to what constitutes salvation. Most if not all organized religions claim to believe in the golden rule. Thats good enough for me, but it is more for private salvation than national.

It is no longer just road rage that we need to worry about. The k*****g spree in the theater in Colorado reminds us there is no where one can be protected from someone who desires to k**l. The radical left has shown how quickly they display their intolerance of any values different than the ones they espouse. The statement by Dan Cathy of the family owned corporation, Chick-fil-A, in affirming traditional family values, brought almost immediate knee-jerk overreaction from the radical left. Bloggers, radical l*****ts news sites, celebrities, and mayors of cities all lined up to denounce any belief in traditional family values, and any person who affirms them.
Not only is the weather hot and most of the country is in a drought needing rain, many states are locked in heated political e******n debates. The tension grows as we move toward the general e******n in November where we will elect a new President, yet the overreaction to a simple statement of t***h and conscience concerning traditional family values brought out the worse in responses from the radical left. The vitriol spewing from the inner thoughts of some alternative media sources and celebrities was truly shocking.
From the radical left, all we have heard in recent years is the need to be tolerant and open showing fairness to other people allowing them to coexist with the mainstream of American thought. We have been urged by the radical left not to rush to judgment when a person from their side is accused of some wrong doing. The immediate response from some in the national media to the awful heinous cowardly k*****gs in Colorado was to try and stick the Tea Party as the group to blame. The obvious rage that is just below the surface in the minds of the radical left could not be contained when they immediately blamed any conservative group for such an awful act of mass k*****g and then to jump so quickly on a family owned business for no reason, other than the worldview of the owners of Chick-fil-A being different than the worldview they hold, showed no tolerance for a different view point.
Those who cry the loudest for others to be tolerant have shown not to be people who can practice what they urge others to demonstrate. It could well be said, the radical left cannot practice what it preaches to others.

The righties in here.....they have a deceptive nature about themselves...like using Christianity to justify limiting the rights of others and calling themselves victims of discrimination while doing so....

I'm not a Christian, but I thought Jesus was big on the golden rule, do unto others as you would have done unto you. I don't think these folks would like to be discriminated against. I guess we can read into religion what we want to read.
