Judge orders state to provide s*x c****e surgery for prisoner

http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/04/03/us-usa-california-sexchange-idUSKBN0MU0CB20150403

(Reuters) - A federal judge in San Francisco on Thursday ruled that California must provide sex reassignment surgery to a t*********r inmate, calling denial of the procedure a violation of constitutional rights.

G****r dysphoria occurs when a person's g****r at birth conflicts with the one they identify with,
the American Psychiatric Association says.

Norsworthy, 51, was born Jeffrey Norsworthy. She is serving a sentence of 17 years to life at Mule Creek State Prison in Ione, California.

She began identifying as a t*********r woman in the mid-1990s and was diagnosed with the condition in January 2000.

Denied treatment, people with g****r dysphoria can suffer anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts

----So Apparently This Is Not A Biological Condition

As I understand it, inmates have a right to medical treatment while in prison. To do otherwise would deny them medical treatment since they can not seek treatment themselves. They can't be left without treatment no matter what they have done.

Only in America do prisoners have more rights and prove lodges than law abiding citizens! I can understand them having medical treatment when they are physically sick, but this draws the line. I guess every t*********r person who wants a s*x c****e operation should just go rob a convenience store so they can go to prison and get this operation for free at our expense!

Treatment for medical ailments to keep them alive. Sex reassignment...no that's a load of crap! If you are serving a prison sentence because you did something against society and you feel bad because you have a penis, well that's just a shame. When you get out and can afford the procedure on your own then have it whacked off, but don't expect me to pay for it. You are repaying your debt to society. Not the other way around. The judge is an i***t!

Hey Oldsalt, Captain, very impressive. I was a deck seaman, so I outranked you. In any case, the judge doesn't agree with you. I think that it is more than a question of being happy. It is a question of mental health. Thank you for your leadership and service.

Salt wind 78, I started in '72 as an E2, just put in my papers in '13. Been a long haul but I still believe in conservative America. talk more later about these liberal judges changing the law to suit themselves.
