Same when I grew up in the 50s. In fact, during the first couple weeks of school starting in September, many of us had guns in the trunks of our cars, parked in the school lot. Because we immediately went deer hunting upon school letting out. It's not a problem if one has been taught how to use and respect guns. And, obey the laws.
