It's about respect.....

We're all well aware of this country regarding race relations, or the lack thereof, but it's not about race at all. This past Saturday around dinner time, Boston police officers decided to make a motor vehicle stop in a neighborhood called Roxbury. If you've ever read the Herald articles I post you'll know it is always in the top two for highest murder rate. The officer told the young "man" to get out of his car, and as soon as he did he started shooting, hitting the officer in the face. Cover officers returned fire k*****g the suspect, and taking two more into custody. The officer was taken to the hospital, a coma was induced, as for now it's a wait and see. This was an obvious case showing the lack of respect shown toward law enforcement/authority, in other words, why it appears there is an issue with race. The lack of respect shown by this group of people from that neighborhood while the police were investigating the crime scene, shocked even me a little, and I'm used to it. The second is of the same incident, this video exhibits why this country is not divided by race, and that it's divided by unmitigated ignorance and disrespect.

My only warning would be about language, there is no footage of the shooting. So, if profanity disturbs you, I suggest you don't watch.

I just found out, youtube will want you to verify your age, through your email to watch the first video.

It's not about race at all ? You are delusional and have no idea what B****s endure in this society. I was having lunch with a friend the other day and he told me about going to another city 300 miles away to meet a girl friend. While he was waiting for her to get off work, he decided to waste time in a shopping mall. He went into an ice cream parlor and the next thing you know, police with guns arrived, threw him on the floor, handcuffed him, and threatened to blow his head off. The proprietor of the ice cream parlor claimed that he was the same (Black) guy who had robbed them a week before -- which he could not have been for many reasons, including that he was 300 miles away working at a job in which he was in charge of the entire worldwide computer system for a major corporation you have all heard about. Even in relatively benign areas of the country, B****s see discrimination every single day of their lives, probably multiple times. They go into a store and are followed around as though they are going to shoplift the shelves clean. It doesn't matter what your socio-economic status may be or how you are dressed. If you are Black, every day in one or more ways you will be considered an offense. You just don't know what the average, typical Black man endures.

Really? I'm the delusional one? You're the one trying to equate a case of mistaken identity and something about shoplifting, to a police officer being shot in face. You proggresives are something else!

If you even watched the videos I provided, you missed the big picture here. In the video where the kid had the attention of one of the highest ranking police officers in the department, ready to listen, and address his grievances, with facts on both what happened, and how a crime scene is processed, what does the kid do? He mocks him, talks over him, calls him a n****r(multiple times) and tells him to go back in the pig pen with the rest of the pigs.

That kid squandered an opportunity to make real progress, real positive strides in making the community's relationship with law enforcement officials better. Why? To put it plainly, ignorance. He wasn't looking to better his community, he was only looking to agitate and better his "street cred" amongst his peers by disrespecting the cop(s) and putting it up on YouTube; disgraceful. And he/they ought to be ashamed of themselves, but we know they're not, because ignorance is bliss.

By the way, not that you asked or seemed to care, that officer is out of surgery, the bullet was removed successfully from his neck and he should be leaving the hospital in a few days, eventually returning to the same streets to protect and serve those that called him a pig and hoped for his death, because the officer has something they don't , honor-integrity-respect.

Oh, one more thing. How do you know I'm not a black man, fully aware of my cultural history? It could be that I'm embarrassed to be associated with that scale of ignorance.

I am not equating anything to anything. That is in the movie playing on the inside of your forehead that you are watching.

I don't know or care what you are. If you are Black, chances are you wouldn't have this attitude about the example I provided and the point I was trying to make. In Las Vegas, I would give the odds that you are not Black at about 10,000 to 1. You just don't know or care what Black people go through on a daily basis. And for that matter, you don't know whether I am Black or white, either.

If you weren't trying to equate them, then why did you bring up the story about your friend? It had nothing to do with my topic. Maybe you were trying to deflect from the topic, which was about ignoranceand a lack of respect by one group toward another. My personal view about why race relations won't improve any time soon, if one group can't let go of the past and look to the future.

If you don't care whether I'm black or not, then don't presume to know what race I am, then lecture me about it.

Nothing to do with race. Puleeze, the only one you are fooling is yourself. Here is your topic sentence, your very first words: We're all well aware of this country regarding race relations, or the lack thereof, but it's not about race at all. There is not a thing in the United States that, if you dig deeply enough, you will find the issue of race.

Are you kidding ? We ALL know what race you are. If we are wrong, then it is even worse. You're an oreo.

Who is this "we" that you speak of, do you have a mouse in your pocket...it is only you and I discussing this topic.

Apparently my point goes over your head, it's okay, I'm use to it when dealing with progressives such as yourself. Reading and comprehension are obviously not your strengths. And thanks for exposing yourself with the r****t remark at the end. You have convinced me that your parents are also brother and sister, or atleast cousins.

Sadly the lack of respect isn't restricted to young b****s and police. It seems to be rampant in our culture these days. I hear kids talking back to parents, teachers, store clerks, Cabin Attendants, you name them, they get dissed. that lack of simple courtesy among us is big reason for the decline of our society.

The "we" I refer to includes me, the mouse in my pocket, and everyone else in this forum reading your posts. It is a Samoan "we," a "matou" rather than a "tatou," which refers to everyone else here except you.

He wouldn't be likely to read the Boston Herald, either.

I wonder where they pick up that lack of respect.

That's weird, in the "benign area" where I live, the only difference between the b****s and w****s is the color of their skin. Maybe that's because the b****s here do not fit your condescending definition of your "average typical black" men and women. They are all fine folks.

Blade_Runner, B****s are about as much "all fine folks" as w****s are. B****s are people, just like everyone else in this forum in the sense that B****s have the full range of feelings and emotions that you do. If hundreds of years of s***ery topped off by many, many years of being treated disrespectfully (or much worse, like being lynched) because of skin color doesn't cause certain differences from you in sensitivity to certain things, then pigs can fly without airplanes. You're not very sensitive or observant.

He is speaking as a whitebread peckerhead who doesn't know his a++ from his elbow. Give the jerk credit, though. He is trying very hard to be politically correct. He isn't openly a bigot -- just behind closded doors and in the v****g booth.
